Luck not needed. It's simple and straightforward. The toughest question you'll get will be: "Has anything changed?"

The Conservative Republicans of San Joaquin will be hosting Sheriff Moore at Mimi's Cafe on Pacific Ave in Stockton on Monday, July 17th. There will be a no-host dinner and networking with Sheriff Moore from 5:30-6:30 PM. The actual meeting will start at 6:30 PM.

No RSVP required and admission is free.

It will be a political meeting but may be a good chance to meet and talk with the sheriff regarding his thinking on the future of CCW in San Joaquin County and maybe put in your two cents.

I will not be attending but thought I would pass this information along.

Tracycali, the best advice I can give you is fill out the paper work from the SO. when you make an appointment for your initial interview be open and honest about every LE interaction you've had in your past. I promise you it all comes out on the background check. For me they went back 30+ years. After that it's a waiting game. Don't think about it, don't worry about it, don't trip. As you can see it took 15 months for me to get approved. You'll receive a call from another investigator to verify nothings changed. Once he's done he passes the file up stairs and it's pretty quick at that point. Research CCW offerings from the certified instructors for San Joaquin. I personally recommend first response. Duncan and Elloy conducted one of the best classes I've been to. I rolled the dice and took my course in May because of my busy schedule. Once you get the call you'll have 90 days to complete your course and make an appt to pick up the golden ticket.

Again the most important thing I can advise to keep your sanity is set it and forget it until the SO contacts you.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Slowkick, I live in Tracy and am interested in CCW. Any tips you can give the San Joaquin folks on the process? TIA!

Word is from credible sources. Just lately my buddies neighbors ccw request was turned by the sheriff for no reason. I kinda doubt the sheriffs gonna come out now saying the truth until re election this fall?
