Sucks if it is still the laminated paper. I cannot go to a minimalist wallet with this thing. Oh well...

Thanks and good luck to you as well. I want to say it seems like they only do renewals on Tuesday? I'm not sure, seemed like it when I made my appointment. I know you have to make an appointment to pick up your license, if approved.
    Thanks. I'll call tomorrow.

I found a minimalist wallet that works great for the laminated card. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It was pretty much straight forward and about the same as when I went in for my initial application. Although the interviewer this time was a little intense when going over the application with me.

While I was waiting someone did get a phone call stating their renewal was approved and would be ready to pick up.

Anyone know if they updated the license to be a card type? or is it still a laminated paper? I forgot to ask...
When did you schedule your appointment? Mine expires mid March. Was planning on calling next week.

Pretty sure it's still laminated paper. Sac got the new cards.

    Good luck!

Me too. From my arrests from over 40 years ago. Absolutely tell the truth about everything. Don't leave anything out. Mafi84 he may be interviewing you beacause you may have left something out that came up in the investigation of your application.

Yes you can do that, I summitted my application, No guns needed, bought my guns afterwards, took ccw class at the 6 month mark. When I was approved I had everything done

On the day I picked up my LTC they asked if everything listed was correct. The impression I got was that I could add another gun right then if I had the papers to state that I had qualified on that gun. After turning in the original application you have months before a formal interview. Get qualified on your guns of choice before then and you should be good to go.

Yet with that lull, the 13-14 month process did not improve.

If they processed permits in a timely and efficient manner, they would have a line of applicants a mile long.
What better way to weed out lots of applicants than to have a ridiculously long wait.
That also is a great way to find out who has patience, a very good attribute for a perspective permit holder.
I just don't like waiting to exercise may 2nd amendment rights. The second amendment is the only right we have to ask permission to use .fro the purchase of a firearm to the carrying of it no other right do we have to ask permison to do

Or who gets a moving violation within the extra year wait. They may not issue if you get a ticket while waiting.
