My license expires in mid March as well; I actually called to make an appointment for later this month and was told to do it as soon as possible. So I made my appointment for today, just left work early; I called last week. I guess they want you to start the process closer to the 90 days instead of the 60 days.
Sucks if it is still the laminated paper. I cannot go to a minimalist wallet with this thing.Oh well...
Thanks and good luck to you as well. I want to say it seems like they only do renewals on Tuesday? I'm not sure, seemed like it when I made my appointment. I know you have to make an appointment to pick up your license, if approved.
I found a minimalist wallet that works great for the laminated card. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...=ATVPDKIKX0DERLeave a comment:

Just went in for my renewal interview today. I showed up about 30 minutes early and seemed to be the only one there. It was pretty much straight forward and about the same as when I went in for my initial application. Although the interviewer this time was a little intense when going over the application with me.
While I was waiting someone did get a phone call stating their renewal was approved and would be ready to pick up.
Anyone know if they updated the license to be a card type? or is it still a laminated paper? I forgot to ask...
Pretty sure it's still laminated paper. Sac got the new cards.
Good luck!Leave a comment:

Me too. From my arrests from over 40 years ago. Absolutely tell the truth about everything. Don't leave anything out. Mafi84 he may be interviewing you beacause you may have left something out that came up in the investigation of your application.Leave a comment:

I had to interview with Sheriff Moore. It was about something from twenty five years ago. Just be truthful about anything that comes up. It is not an interrogation under hot lights. He has a concern that he wants to address with you, nothing more.Leave a comment:

Yes you can do that, I summitted my application, No guns needed, bought my guns afterwards, took ccw class at the 6 month mark. When I was approved I had everything doneLeave a comment:

On the day I picked up my LTC they asked if everything listed was correct. The impression I got was that I could add another gun right then if I had the papers to state that I had qualified on that gun. After turning in the original application you have months before a formal interview. Get qualified on your guns of choice before then and you should be good to go.Leave a comment:

Has anyone turned in their original app with no firearms listed? Would like to get the process started but have nothing owned that I plan to carry, would purchase something over the next few months.Leave a comment:

I don't believe they are as backed up as they seem.
When I asked a year ago how many permits they process a week the girl said they were doing 20 a week for a long time, but it had dropped back to about 10.
Yet with that lull, the 13-14 month process did not improve.
If they processed permits in a timely and efficient manner, they would have a line of applicants a mile long.
What better way to weed out lots of applicants than to have a ridiculously long wait.
That also is a great way to find out who has patience, a very good attribute for a perspective permit holder.Leave a comment:
