    I am 6 months out.
Thinking I should apply now for renewal.
The way it is going, mine will expire before they get to my app.
Mine expires in August and I have it on my to do list for next week. I actually voted for Moore because he was a known. I started voting for him when he approved my first CCW. I did share my correspondence with Withrow on here and I did vote for him the first time he ran which was before Moore started signing CCW's.

My understanding is you cannot apply until you are 90 days out. The system will not allow it. Hopefully I hear something eventually, I applied Jan 9th or so and have been expired since the first week of March.

        You are correct.
After I posted I went to the web site for a look see.
It does state you may not apply for a renewal more than 90 days away from your expiration.
Kind of screwed up they tell you, you cannot carry after your permit expires, and it is expiring at their expense.

Just got the call and finished my interview. One thing I noticed that is different from before, is the investigator told me not to take my training until official approval and he mentioned that the Sheriff had final say. The last time I did renewal, when I did my phone interview I was told to go take my training and I should be approved in a couple weeks. Maybe I am thinking to much into it but who knows... but one more step forward.

That is odd, and just another thing that could slow you way down depending on what instructor you use.
The one I use is usually sold out 6 months or more in advance.
I booked my class months ago and my renewal is the end of Sept.
I don't understand why you can't take the class and get the certificate to be ready. That is what I have always done.
It is my money to spend on the class, if for some goofball reason they deny me, oh well, so I spent some money, I got to go shooting and get a bit of instruction. No harm done.

That was his unofficial advice to me, so I need to search for an instructor who is open and willing.

Nothing major has happened that I can think that would affect my approval. Only thing I can think of is a no fault accident I was in last year or so, which i told him about.

So let me do a quick revision, since the other post was on my phone and I wanted to be brief. Got the call, investigator went through my app to verify everything and if anything has changed. Told me he got everything he needed and would forward the app to the Sheriff who had final say. He said to not take the class in case I was denied, so I don't waste my time/money. But unofficially, he said it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and take the class.

I guess it just got me thinking because the last time, I was told to go ahead and take the class and should be approved within a week to two. But like I mentioned I might just be worried for nothing.

My guess would be that in the past they told someone that everything looks good, it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and take the class now. Then for some reason they were denied and a complaint was filed asking for money back.

This caused policy to change to not take the class until given the okay.

                    Just my two cents.

Yes. But then I told him i'd donate to his campaign if he runs for Sheriff.
