Tiny screen shot, can't read it, or even tell what app/site that's from? There is a short sentence on the San Joaquin CCW site, not clear if they are just shutting down Live Scan or ALL new applications?
I did my Live Scan on 3/9. They said the next step is to send fingerprints off to FBI, and they have been getting approval back in 30 to 60 days... Hopefully:
1. my prints went out before this shut down.
2. the approval gets back from FBI soon.
3. they continue to process my application and I get approved.
4. I can even find an open training course.
5. I get my permit before some real chaos breaks out.
That's a lot of hopefully'sComment

The Sheriff notice is posted on their Instagram site, I cannot download the image and the attachment option on this website automatically makes it small and unreadable.
Concealed Weapon Permits: New applications for CCW's will not be processed. Pending applications and renewals may be done by appointment only. For appointment contact Professional Standards Division at 209-468-4342.

I would consider you as "pending" since you have already completed your live scan. Give them a call, they are usually easy to talk to. Like I previously mentioned I have been pending since I submitted my renewal app in Jan. My main concern is, if I get an approved status; how do I take my requal? I know a few of the trainers I follow have shut down due to covid-19.Comment

Just checked and mine now says assigned to processor/processing order and also status pending at the last bar.Comment

Good to hear there is some movement. Just checked mine, still waiting on processor. Have you looked into any trainers that are open/training?
EDIT: I know First Response with Duncan is closed until after April 10th. I haven't check with any other trainers/classes yet but if ranges are shutdown....Last edited by 3lsmc7; 03-24-2020, 10:17 AM.Comment

I did mine back in Jan. Nothing on my record has changed, so I figured I'd be good to go.Good to hear there is some movement. Just checked mine, still waiting on processor. Have you looked into any trainers that are open/training?

I did the same and still waiting for a "processor". Called SJSO the other day and they said that they were just getting started with January renewal applications. Plus they reminded me that I cannot carry once my existing expires. That tells me that even though I applied exactly 90 days prior, they are not going to be able to have them completed within that time frame.
Be interested to read more renewal completion dates to try to get an idea if I'll expire first or not.Comment

I filed for renewal in January and my permit has since expired. I also took the class prior to submitting my renewal.
My last renewal took 10 days. Very disappointed in the new sheriff. No excuse for not getting these done within their 90 day time frame.
The 2nd is obviously not as important to him as he made it seem prior to him being elected. And this is not Covid-19 related. They've been behind since last year.Comment

I took my class prior to submitting the renewal in January too. My expiration is just a few days away, so I'll probably be in the same boat. Sadly, they said the new system would speed up renewals especially, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Not to mention that since many of us "renewed" well over a month prior to the COVID-19 issues in CA.I filed for renewal in January and my permit has since expired. I also took the class prior to submitting my renewal.

The whole point of going online was to automate a majority of the process. In talking to people involved in these processes in other states that also use this software, they mentioned that it was "designed" to verify if there was any change in anything from the last renewal or initial application. Should there be no change, criminal, civil, traffic or otherwise, it was supposed to "rubber stamp" the renewal. The theory is/was that anything new would have a date stamp in DOJ, DMV and other records that were between the issue date and renewal application, thus flagging the renewal for review. But it doesn't seem to be how this "new" system is being utilized here in SJSO/CA.
Please post back when you get your approval and if you could, post total time from renewal application to approval.Comment

If I remember correctly, many on here voted for him....
Reap what you sow.
I also remember lots of guys on here thinking how wonderful and efficient the new, online system was going to be....
I am 6 months out.
Thinking I should apply now for renewal.
The way it is going, mine will expire before they get to my app.Comment
