Serious! My application was submitted 2/2, no live scan appointments were available until 4/6, and my case still shows "assigning to processor shortly" - WTF ? I rescheduled my live-scan out farther because no one is even working on my case yet. Did I screw up? Should I go in for the live scan asap, then they will start working my case

When I went through the process last year this was my timeline.
      - Called phone and set appointment to turn in application. Appointment was 30 days out.
      - Went in and turned in application and did live scan.
      - About 30 days from doing live scan I got the call for the interview.
      - About 30 days from there I received the email stating it was approved and to go take my course.

Whole process was about 3 months. My neighbor has had his for a long time now. He said originally his process took a year. I would recommend being patient it seems the process is way faster now than it used to be.

I found the staff at the Sheriff's office to be extremely nice and very helpful.

Keep checking the appointments sometimes people reschedule. Go for your Livescan ASAP. They have someone work on your case after the livescan

Boy they sure don't make it clear at all whether an application will be in limbo until the live scan is done. Seems like I screwed up and need to get my live scan done asap

EDIT: Just changed my live scan to tomorrow AM

A phone interview will be conducted. My coworker lives in Sacramento County and his interview was in person with the sheriff.

I submitted my renewal on Jan. 2nd and it's still being "assigned to a processor ". I called two weeks ago and they told me the same thing they told you. Who knows where they are.

Man... lol I renewed Jan 9. Post up if you hear anything... So much for starting 90 days out. I do not like where this is going considering when my first renewal took less than 3 weeks.

I'm in the same boat, my last renewal in 2018 took 2 weeks.

Have you seen any movement with your renewal?

Nothing yet... just checked last night on permitium and no movement. Still waiting on investigator. I hate having to go to stores like this, especially during all this craziness.

Makes me wonder how much more time they can delay this considering all the panic and from what I understand it was mostly volunteers and retirees who were doing the processing/investigations (I may be wrong on this, just assumptions).

Thanks for the reply. I'm wondering the exact same. Hope we are not forced to go months without our permits.

                          Good luck to us all.

I recently moved from San Joaquin County to Butte County, giving up my LTC and applying online for a new one in Butte County. The process is slowing down a bit even up here. It may just be a lack of resources to process applications. They use Permitium here as well.

San Joaquin Sheriff’s office notified the public they will not be processing new CCW applications while the shut down is going on. Went into the website to reschedule and soonest I could find was 7/3/2020. My original appointment was coming this Wednesday.

Yes, apparently renewals are still being processed.
