Did the people who were approved receive a phone call with the good news or a letter in the mail stating they were approved? -
Well, I will be starting the renewal process in October. That will put me 6 months out. Lets hope nothing in his policies have changed.Leave a comment:

9/22/15 - Application
8/20/15 - Investigator call verifying no change to any info & asking for company firearm policy. He said it should be next week when I hear about approval since sheriff is out of the office the rest of this week.
Good luck to all those waiting patiently.Leave a comment:

My investigator went on vacation just before finishing my file, so mine was delayed by almost 2 weeks. She got back yesterday and then sent the file on. She said it goes to the Captain first and then on to the Sheriff. She said both of them have large stacks of these on their desk and made it sound like it would not be immediate because of that.
Application/Interview Date: August 25, 2014

Got the call this morning. Investigator really only had one question and that was if any thing had changed since I applied back in Sept of last year.
Told here nothing had changed. She said it should be on the way to the Sheriff Thursday or Friday.
I do think it bothered her that they could not find out anything on my record what so ever.Leave a comment:

From what I have been told by many in Alameda Co., it is virtually impossible to get a CCW. Out of roughly 1.5 mil. population, there are under 200 non-LEO that have them. The wait in San Joaquin is long (1 year), but at lease they are issuing them...Leave a comment:

As I posted earlier, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE for a private citizen (non-LEO) to obtain a CCW in Livermore or anywhere else in Alameda County (I lived there for 20 years). Count your blessings that we can in San Joaquin and the Central Valley, even though it may take 12 months!Leave a comment:
