08-08-23 = completed the CCW renewal training at the Route 66 Shooting Sports Park.
08-09-23 = turned in my CCW renewal packet at the SBSD CCW unit and advised them of two changes (job title change and drop/add new handgun). they took my picture and gave me the 120 day extension card. they advised that I can not carry my new handgun, until I receive my new CCW permit. they also advised that I will receive a phone call informing me when I can come and pick up my new CCW permit.
    Update #3:
12-04-24 = picked up permit. They issued a paper permit, advised that it can legally be cut down to size and laminated. They also advised by the time a renew again, that they should be back to issuing a plastic credit card sized permit.
    Interesting.
    I expired 10/01/23
    Qualified and renewed 8/9/23

Sounds like you may have been misplaced in the process.

Ya, once you complete the app, submit the required docs (ID card, utility bill, property tax) and pay, you can select a class date. Mine is next week.

this could be a dumb question. when one completes the renewal application using the new system, is the appointment for the renewal interview or the actual training? In the system, it just says select an appointment. It did not spell out if it is for interview or training.

There isn't another interview, just the training and live fire.

I know what the application fees are!
I asked not once but twice about the range/class.

In looking at my 2023 renewal info and the current fees it looks like the only changes are the credit card fee of $4.76 and a $5 service fee.

Would have liked to hear a stronger statement against SB2 like some other Sheriffs but okay.

                          My timeline thus far:

                          9/27/23: Interview Scheduled
                          11/8/23: CCW Interview Completed
                          No range date yet

Anybody else with a similar timeline that has received a range date?

Question for y'all that have qualified in Devore. I normally ride a mountain bike or a motorcycle. If I bring the motorcycle do they have accommodations to store firearms while in class? Last quals at AVGC I just rode my bike there with them in the backpack as you go pretty much go straight to shooting.

Gonna Grab an SUV from my AZ place this weekend so I have something to lock my guns in, I only have my motorcycle in CA so more than likely that won't work. What can I expect at Devore? I've never been there other than to drop off my renewal paperwork. I assume the new renewal class will be like the old initial class. How is check in normally? Also do they require ammo to be locked? I know AVGC needed both ammo and guns locked the last time I went.
