      You used the wrong pronoun!

Should I be concerned, my blue card expires on Dec 1st. I've not heard a word from the S.B.C.S.D. CCW crew. They did take my picture at the time of the renewal, fully completed along with my range card.

So, I was thinking it would just show-up in the mail, there is nothing I need to provide. OR IS EVERYONE REQUIRED TO SHOW UP FOR PICK-UP without exceptions?

Should I email them, call etc?

You may need to show up for the finger print on the new paper permit. I was about a week from blue card expiration when I got the call.

I did the new Photo when I renewed, but not a fingerprint. I'll wait another week before I email them. I feel for the SBCSD, WHAT A MESS!!!. And going back to the old paper will be different.

My first CCW started on August 1st, 1985, was no biggie to get it at that time. I had a hunters safety course and that was enough. Two-year renewals were all just send in the money. Only restriction was The Governers mansion.

38 years later, I'm still doing low Income property management.

What number shows on the Caller ID when the SBCSD CCW Unit calls? It would be nice to add that number to Contacts so that it does not get screened.

I don't know about you all, but I get at least a dozen sales calls a day and mostbof those display phony telephone numbers.

Mine came from 909-473-3891, but they have multiple lines. As an example, the CCW website lists their contact number as 909-473-3893. Just watch for calls that originate from the 909 area code (San Bernardino).

                        UPDATE:

I received my call on Monday (909) # MY date and time was Wednesday.

Yep they just run off your CCW off a standard B&W printer. The staff couldn't be nicer. She showed me how to cut it and laminate it.

Like others said, starting next year all the paperwork and payment(s) will be done online. (Renewals) Thats GREAT! Back to the hard card.
In my perfect world, I would like to see the new CCW card with a QR or scan tab.

With all the respect and well wishes for the SBCSD, the one I have looks like something you could do on any home computer. I hope I don't have to explain this paper one to any LEO!

It may be interesting if anyone in SB county post any verifications by Law enforcement.

For me, I'm thrilled to keep my CCW active another 10+ years.

For many, many years all we got was a paper CCW without a picture.

I scanned mine and reduced the size down to fit a 2.4 in x 3.8 in Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouch. With a little trimming, it now fits my wallet ID window.

My original permit expired on Aug 1st, 2023. Received my blue card in late July, that card expired on Dec 1st, so I made it by two weeks. I did my renewal in June.

LadyRuger, Oh how I remember our many years of paper with no picture. What's changed is paper permits are pretty much a thing of the past.
