If you get Detective Logan, Don't feel intimidated by previous posts about her, while not overly friendly she was straight forward and easy to deal with...had my interview with her week before last. Also Detective Paerea (spelling?) seemed pretty easy going. Don't forget any of your forms!

OK now I am really confused..... When I downloaded their instructions in July it said

"You must be a full time resident within the County of San Bernardino."

I downloaded their recent one in case they updated anything, which they did as its marked 8/14 on the bottom and now it says

"You must be a full time resident within the County of San Bernardino but outside of any incorporated city limits." Well I live in Upland which is an Incorporated city, so what gives?

EDIT: Just spoke to Sarah from San Bern, she said DO NOT listen to the new instructions (marked 8/14) there are things there we do not want you to do yet. I asked if I was still ok living in Upland and she said YES. So I dont know why the heck they'd update their instructions but not want people to follow them. She said follow the old instructions marked 5/14. Just FYI

Also FYI old instructions says bring weapons to interview, new instructions says DO NOT bring weapons to interview. Shes telling me to follow old instructions so i guess im bringing mine.

Doesn't hurt to take weapon but LEAVE IN TRUNK! If they ask for it then go retrieve it.

Just left from bringing my firearms in to be screened. I had to go back because I followed the directions given in the new application and also the directions of the person I spoke to on the phone prior to my interview: "Don't bring your guns to the interview". We'll the interviewer (Michael) told me that I was supposed to have brought in my pistols and that the "Don't bring your guns" was not supposed to begin until November 1st. Do what the previous Poster said and bring them locked in your trunk that way you have them and don't have to come back like me.

An interesting note: they were having an all hands meeting (at 2:30PM) to discuss CCW and the recent rash of SSE pistols that people have been trying to add to their permits. Initially, they would not let me add my new P320 because it was DROSed as .25 Single Shot. I transferred it to my wife and now it shows up as the correct caliber in their system. They added it without batting an eyelash. They told me that they have been seeing a ton of these. I assume the meeting was to develop SOP for dealing with this issue. I'm very interested to see what upcoming changes (if any) will come from this meeting.

As of today, BRING YOUR FIREARM... I called yesterday to confirm and Susan said yes. Funny thing of the entire ordeal was that I used my regular Glock cases and Det. Joe Perea said to go ahead and unlock and retrieve the firearms. He stepped out of the room for a moment and before I had a chance to open/unlock the case he already had them pulled out...LOL... He said that I hope I don't use this as my home safe, which I don't....

Overall the interview went smooth. I had a prior detainment/arrest when I was a juvenile for trespassing that I was skeptical about but it was of no concern. Another possible issue I had was that I am a part of a motorcycle ministry that caters to all M/C's including the 1% crowd. I was told that I may not carry while wearing my vest and also had to write a clause on my Cal DOJ paperwork that I would not carry while wearing it. Due to the fact that I may be targeted due to my clean cut appearance and be mistaken as LE... It sounds weird but I rather be able to carry as it's for my family and my protection and wouldn't want to jeopardize not being able to carry at all...

All in all, just be yourself and be honest and upfront about any and all. I'm a pretty layed back person and I tried to present that during the interview by just being me. I dressed super casual with a v-neck t-shirt, camo cargo shorts and Vans on :P

The biggest hold up is with the employment verification, as told. So inform your sups/managers that they will be receiving this in the mail. Also let them know to read each question before answering. If they check YES when the should have checked NO, be ready for a denial letter...

So the wait continues for another 30-90 days...

After the range qualification, how long before the permit is ready for pickup?

                    Thanks,

Keep a copy of your range card!! Both times I've had to qualify I have had to resupply them with the range card.

Yea I did. Turned out that my employer didn't send back the verification form.

I had them send another directly to my local HR rep to complete. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.

Wondering this too, had my interview 2 weeks ago and I'm currently unemployed, looking for a job and trying to start a business. I have the office manager at my former employer keeping an eye out for anything from sbso but so far nothing.

Does anyone know who the employer letter will be addressed to? I work for a large construction company and I gave them the home office address. I work on various construction sites and not in the home office. Will it be addressed to "HR", "to whom it may concern" or "to the parents of ..."? Does anybody know?
