I finally got my new card in the mail. Almost 6 weeks after receiving the "approved" email. They did update the issue date and thus the renewal date so I have the full term of 2 years. I will email a "thank you" to them.

Started the Permitium process back on 8/5.

Did my renewal course and uploaded the certificate and range card on 8/10.

Received email and text that my renewal was approved on 9/25.

Did not receive it after three weeks so continued to follow up via email Received responses that they were behind, with last email yesterday saying it was mailed on 10/25.

Just received the new card in the mail today, 10/31.

My old CCW expires tomorrow, so it all worked out!

        Thanks for the update.
My dates are similar to yours so I've been watching this thread to make sure I wasn't alone.
        Time to check the mailbox!!

If you haven't done so, sign up for Informed Delivery on the USPS website. You get a daily email with all the mail that should be delivered to you that day. I watched it every day and was happy to see that there was something from the Sheriff's department for me.

You got your approval notification a month and 2 days after I got mine, yet you got your card the same day I got mine.....? I received my approval email on August 23. My old card expired September 15.

Wow, the process really changed. 2 years ago, renewal was all in house. I was looking for my notification E-mail that it was time to renew. Looking at the responses, it looks like my CCW will expire before I renew. Just to be clear, all renewal training is done by outside vendors now? If it's all done by vendors, why is there a range fee of $112 listed in the application process? Looking for some tips and tricks to get on board with this new process.
              Thanks

There isn't a range fee listed for renewals. There is a range fee for Initial applications.

I took my renewal class on 1-21 and received my card on 2-14. 24 days including 2 days in transit via USPS.

I have had my CCW in San Bernardino for over 10 years. Prior to this renewal they wanted you to wait 90 days prior to expiration. When I went to the site in November 2024, I noticed it said 180 days prior. My CCW expired today. I did all the online paperwork and paid fees on 11/25/2024 and went to an approved class on 11/26/2024. I submitted all required items that evening. On the site it says processing order and the status pending is blank. On February 27th I sent an email and was short and polite, I just asked if there was an estimated time it takes, and made it clear I was not asking for any special privilege to move up in front of line. I got an email back shortly from Brittany that stated there is no estimated time and they have 500 to process, I will receive notification when approved and wait for it to be mailed. From what I have read here, mine seems to be taking a long time.

I agree, yours seems to be taking longer than most. My brother did his range and submitted everything in Permitium on 10/26 and he got his new card on 1/9.

Has anyone used Route 66 for renewal this year?

I got an email on March 11th that my CCW was processed and not yet mailed. It said it would mail in future and I would be notified. I received my CCW in the mail yesterday and they changed the expiration date from March 01 to March 11. Now I know to start this process 180 days out, not 90 like in the past. All in all, not bad, I feel bad for emailing them.

Wow that’s much more encouraging. Did you have any changes? It occurred to me that changing the items on the permit might increase the time significantly.

I just completed uploading my range card and certificate this morning (renewal). Now the wait begins.........

                              Update 05/22/2025

                              It's been over a month, status bar still showing;
                              assigning to processor shortly...
Should I be concerned? I think that during the time I originally applied, there where a lot of us getting our CCW's. So, there's a lot of us up for renewal at the same time. Maybe that has something to do wit it. Not panicking yet, I have until the 1st of July.
