No - the class is 8 hours now and are done in person, with a test and the range qualification usually following the class.

There are various places to do the class and qualification. I did mine at the Apple Valley Gun Club. I think they offer it once a month. I paid $150 via a link to eventbrite from their website.

Yes - it is still 5 yards, 5 shots and reload, at least at AVGC. Other places, according to the instructors at AVGC, are doing more extensive shooting requirements.

My approval email date was August 23. My old card expired on September 15....still no new card. Maybe Sheriff Dicus doesn't really support CCWs? I voted for him as I thought he would continue the prior Sheriff's support.

The problem isn't the Sheriff. The problem is the new system and staff that are now in the CCW division. Sara is no longer there. Sara was the one who drove the division to keep up the pace!

Since your approval email was a week after mine and I received my permit on 10/4, hopefully you will get yours near the end of the week.

It had been a couple weeks since you got your card; I still haven't gotten mine. I emailed Brittany last week and got an email this morning that my card has been printed and "will be mailed." Let's see how long that takes.

At least they admitted they haven't mailed it yet. She told me mine had been in the mail for weeks so the entire time I thought it was lost/stolen. Hope you get yours soon

The Permitium site no longer shows the progress bar at the bottom for me. It just has the option to print a receipt, and says that they are processing my permit and that I will receive email status updates as they proceed.
