Speedy service I would say. Too bad I can't carry the gun I added until 10/02/21 when my old permit expires.
Hmm that's weird. I turned in my renewal paperwork on 7/19 and I haven't received my new card yet.

      Hi Everyone,

I didn't get the renewal application, but received verification of weapons, renewal letter, CCW renewal attestation and CCW terms of use forms. I do need to fill out the renewal application when I turn in the packet, correct?

Yes, you do the application online and print it out. I think the instructions say to wait to sign after you're in front of them.

Just a quick update - Turned my renewal on 7/30 - I didn't catch the name of the woman helping me but I wish I had as I would love to give her a shout out. She was wonderfully friendly and super helpful! It was my first renewal and I admit I was a bit nervous about the whole process and what needed to be filled out but she put me quickly at ease, she was awesome!

Was pleasantly surprised to receive my renewal on 8/10! Incredibly quick turnaround - kudos to the hard working staff at SBCSD!

A note to the new - you need to fill out the ENTIRE application including the interview section (except the places where you are to sign in front of them!) - otherwise they will ask you to step out and complete the renewal application before returning...

Thanks to all of you for the advice, suggestions, guidance and sense of community in this forum!

Thank you. That's what I figured. I didn't sign it, but I'm going over it again, so I don't have any issues. I signed up for my range requal. I know I have to do that, and watch the videos before I can turn in any paperwork. I appreciate it!

              Age Requirement For CCW SB

I feel like I have a pretty decent Good Cause statement. I was just wondering if anyone knows if they will actually issue a CCW to someone who just turns 21. I'm aware that the minimum age is 21, but does SB actually issue a CCW to "young adults".

                FWIW...
Two years ago, the youngest person in my renewal class was a 24 year old tattoo artist.
Since he was also renewing his permit, he would have been 22 when he was issued his permit.

YMMV. Since it comes down to your good cause and if you are "a person of good moral character".

I had my interview on 6/18. I still havent heard a peep back. If my job's HR department is still completely overloaded due to Covid, would that jeopardize my permit? It is already an endless void for important work items I send them...

It took ~1.5 months -post interview- to contact me to setup my class date. You have to consider that there was a change in Sheriff, mid-June. The incoming Sheriff kept things status quo. I delayed registering for the June class and was unsure about when/if the next class would be. Luckily it wasn't very long and I was reschedule for 8/21.

I hope this info helps settle the nerves. I know it's all a waiting game, but the finish line is near.

unsolicited correction was the dead giveaway.

Well, I took the first step on the path to acquiring my CCW. I submitted my online application today and choose a 10/8/21 @ 11am Interview Date/Time, I will update my progress in detail as time goes by.

                            1) {7/19/2021}..After confirming the 10/8 Interview Date and leaving the webpage I realized that I would be out of town that day and would need to reschedule. I called Sarah about an hour after confirming my 10/8 date and left her a voice mail explaining my problem and that I would need to get a new Interview date/time. I left her my name and phone number.
                            2) {7/21/2021}..Sarah called me at 9:30 am and rescheduled me for 10/12/2021 @ 11am
                            3) {7/24/2021}..Received my 1st Interview Date confirmation via email from SBSD
                            4) {7/29/2021}..Received my 2nd Interview Date confirmation via email from SBSD
                            5) {8/03/2021}..Received my 3nd Interview Date confirmation via email from SBSD
                            6) {8/08/2021}..Received my 4th Interview Date confirmation via email from SBSD

                              There's only one interview.

There are however multiple "interview notifications". They will email you once a week or so reminding you of your interview date.

                              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
