I have done it both ways.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh You are correct, no mention of re-qualifications.
Yeah, no $%#&, mums the word! OK, but they want me to come into the Employee Resource Division to complete the renewal paperwork 60-90 days prior to expiration. Is this the same paper work you just bring to class instead of dropping it off prior to?

You don't need any paperwork at class time.
You need to print and fill out the renewal app. Take it into the office with your required copies and money orders.
For the class you need one money order and YOU!

That is the rub, if I schedule my class 90 days out, I would need to get the renewal paper turned in prior to the class. They don't except the paper work over 90 days out, Catch 22. So, I will need to select a class less than 90 days out in able to get the paper work and money orders to them prior to the class and under the 90 day restriction. My head hurts! Somehow I have managed to turn this into a circular argument, damn I am good at that.

I haven't gotten my renewal letter yet but this is what I plan on doing.

My expiration date is 4/15. I plan on turning in my paperwork on 1/15. I'm going to try and schedule my class for around 3/15.

The reason I plan on doing it this way is that I've heard that is you've turned in your paperwork prior to your class date that you have a pretty good chance of going home with your new permit at the end of your class.

That's what I'm hoping will happen for me.
          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Class schedule is printed on the letter. There are two classes in March, 5th at SB Headquarters on 3rd st., and the 12th in Rancho Cucamonga City Council Chambers. If you go to the website, the letter is there to print since you haven't gotten yours. It has the new fee schedule. Hint..... the price went up.

My CCW expired on 10/15. I got a call very early in the year from Sarah (yes, she called, not me) to schedule my renewal class. I thought this was very cool. Class was 9/20, which I attended. I did the renewal paperwork a few weeks earlier. I also removed a weapon and added another, so went to the range on Oct 3.

I haven't carried since 10/15 since I don't have my renewed card (feel kind of naked when I go out). I've called several times a week since 10/15 and always left a message, but today finally got an answer from a live person who indicated that the card was not renewed yet and to just be patient and don't carry until I get the new one.

Maybe the delay is because of my addition? Anyone else have this experience? Hope things are ok with everyone on the SBC CCW team. I know it's a very small team. I guess it's a good sign that there is so much interest that they are backlogged.

I see the 2018 renewal letter. Do you have a link to the 2019 renewal letter?

You don't have to do the paperwork 90 days out. You can do it anytime in the process.

If you are real near your expiration date at the time of the class chances are you will get your new card after class. Thirty days early probably not.

I looked based on NotPC saying it was.

I don't have a scanner or I would post it.

                          New fees are:
                          $52 to DOJ
                          $39 to SBSD
                          $28 to SBSD (at class)

$4 more isn't that bad. I thought it was higher than that.

I just wanted to say thank you again for posting this. I didn't remember reading that. I did remember the part about moving.

And, the reason I am so happy that you posted this is that I had changed jobs earlier this year and had no idea that I had to let them know.

So, I called Sarah this morning and left a message that I had changed jobs and need to give them the new information.

She just called me back and I told her that I had forgotten about this requirement and told her the date that I changed my job. In the nicest way possible she scolded me for not calling her sooner. She also told me that she would let me pass this time but not to let it happen again.
