I turned in my packet in January and got the list of class dates. I told her I wanted a modification so she noted my paperwork and gave me a range card and list of dates. I scheduled the class for mid March and went to the range on March 1. My new card was done and given to me at the end of class. My expiration was April 15.

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this. I know they send a letter to your employer, usually after the interview. What if I will be leaving my current job that i had put on my application, for a own/family business? Would they still need to send my old employer the letter? Do i need to contact anyone to update that info? My interview is 4/26/18.

When you go for your interview provide the new job info.

When I turned in my renewal application (Oct '17) at the HQ.

I was told to give the range # a call to make an appointment for the gun modification for my renewal permit. An available Range appointment was available in less than a week, to have the two different handgun qualifications/modification done.

My renewal class is in Dec and I'll probably get my new permit after the class, like the last renewal.

Is there a fee for range for modifications?

No fee for the range modifications for renewals.

Two M.O. at the HQ for the renewal: $52 for DOJ, $38 Admin fee SBSD.

One last M.O. $25 for the SBSD Training renewal class.

Thank you, I know the other fee amounts. Someone else claimed they were charged for a mod at renewal.
There used to be a fee for mods not done at renewal but they no longer allow mods other than at renewal.

I got my renewal letter and one of the requirements is a County Certified Marriage Certificate. Now I could understand if there was a name change involved that the marriage certificate would verify, but there isn't. (I'm male FYI)

I called to check on that and was told that I do need that. That will add to the cost since I was married before I lived in CA so I'll need to check on getting a Certified copy.

I didn't need that to get my CCW, so why would it be required for a renewal?

                    Anyone else encountered this?

                    Thanks,
                    Charlie

No, all 3 guns are registered to me and she doesn't even have a CCW or even a gun, although I've suggested she should.

I did last week but I'll give them another call.
                            Thanks!

Yes, others are reporting this new requirement for 2018.

I don't know the exact reason but this is a new requirement for 2018 renewals and new apps as well.

OK, I just called again...and the woman told me it was a new requirement by law. Very odd since they didn't require it when I got my permit. If I had a copy, I would just bring it but I have to jump through more hoops to get one. Write a letter to town where we filed our marriage application (out of state) with a check for $10 (not a big deal) and wait until they get the letter and eventually send me a copy.

Just does seem what our forefathers envisioned. What's next, they'll want our 3rd grade report card?
