Been lurking only this is my first post. Ive almost gathered everything I need for documentation. I just had one question. I was planning on getting a glock 26 for ccw but i have a long line of this to dros due to the 30 day rule. Do I need to list the 3 pistols I intend to carry on the app now ? I was planning on buying a g19 and g26 for ccw purposes

No. They just need to know that you currently own a gun.

I listed my Sig P220 on my application but it's not on my permit.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Awesome. That helps a lot. Since the appointments take long I figure I can dros through my list while I wait.

When do we need to list what we intend to carry ?

The day you go to the range. My advice is to get what you think you want on your permit and go shooting. You should also try out some of those guns in holsters at home to make sure they are what you really want to carry when you get your permit. Nice thing about San Bernardino is that they will let you list off roster guns. In fact all of my guns listed are off roster.

            Awesome

Thanks for the help. That gives me some time then. I'll try to submit my app before the new year

My pistol of choice is 1911 but that would be too large to conceal for my body type. I own a g17 and I'm familiar with the glock line so I should be happy with that. I have a g19 in line to dros. Was also looking at a shield

Need to practice a lot with the pistols I intend to carry before the range day

I assume I'll need to test with all pistols ?

Anyone have their interview around or after 9/1 and been called yet with a range date? I've called and left Sarah a couple messages since my employer hasn't received the employment verification, but haven't heard back from her. Will probably try again today.

Yes, you will need to qualify with all the guns you want to be on your permit.

You need to get 8 out of 10 in the score zone from 5 yards. The target they use is the B27 silhouette target. I used the B5 silhouette target for practice at 7 yards. The B5 silhouette target is smaller and cheaper.

When you have your range day, you'll bring the firearms you'd like on your permit (up to 3). You'll need to qualify on each. You'll need 2 mags for each (they say, or a speedloader, but you really are better off with 2-3 mags for each). Once they check your stuff, you'll load 5 rounds into the mags before going to the line. Once on the line, you follow the instructions for when to load. You'll do a mag release and reload to equal your 10 shots for each.

I have a G26 and a Shield on my permit. I thought I'd carry the 26 mostly (before trying different holsters). It's my favorite. But for my frame (I'm a girl &#128521, the Shield is better most of the time. It's amazing what a difference just a little width makes!!

I have a Glock 34 on my permit too, but there's no way I could carry that concealed on my person around here! Maybe if I was wearing a heavy winter coat and having no contact with people!!!

Submit your app now. Quicker the better since the wait will give you plenty of time to do everything else.

I was able to get a hold of Sarah today and she said she would have another employment verification mailed out for me, so hopefully my work receives it this time.

I thought I filled out those sections when I first applied. Sorry, but didn't look back at previous posts if the answer is there. Thanks.
I'm assuming you already took care of this, but wanted to reply to be clear.

The renewal application is the standard state application. The instructions on the application are "boilerplate"... Follow the County instructions, complete the whole thing but don't sign anything until you get to the station.

Just a reminder to all of those still waiting for your interview.

A friend of mine had his interview set for yesterday. I talked with him on Saturday to make sure that he had all his paperwork together.

He told me that earlier in the week he found out that his daughter had thrown out his DD214. He spoke with Sarah and she told him that he would be ok so long as he could prove that he had ordered a duplicate.

Well that got him thinking about the rest of his paperwork. And after reading that he needed a county certified birth certificate he realized that his paperwork was incomplete. His interview was scheduled for 3:00 pm so I told him that he could get a copy same day in Norwalk.

Well I guess he wasn't able to get the whole day off and he got back out to San Bernardino too late. Sarah told him to give her a call today to reschedule but that he might have to wait until May for his interview.
