Yeah I was worries when I qualified with my Smith 10. As I brought it up to the ready position the front sight snagged the target and ripped a 4 inch gash in it.
Just kidding.
Doesn't matter much 5 yrd vs 7 yrds, pretty basic shooting if you practice. Actually I accidentally double tapped going from double action to single and shot the target in the neck. Still passed.Only slaves don't need guns

By a whole 6ft....
At least SB doesn't qualify like Sacramento... their routine is closer to the NRA Defensive Handgun class, including failure drills, but I don't believe it is on the timer... the 10 yard runs with the timer are what most had problems with (particularly those not used to running under the clock).
3-5-7-10 yards and a total of 34 rounds for the actual qualification, but you need 250 for the class.
I have no idea if they make you do the entire course for each gun listed.- Rich

It is all very laid back and simple. There is plenty of time. The hit zone is marked and not scored. It was 5 yds in January of 2017. Any hits out of the zone are counted. My target had so many holes I really couldn't tell where they hit but maybe 3 and I shot 2 guns and none outside the zone. Yea, my target was pretty shot up by the time I was up to shoot. They had taken a magic marker to all the holes outside the pass zone, and luckily I didn't add anymore with my LCR.

I'm surprised no one here mentioned the 25 yard weak hand drills.......
I did the class weekend before last with a 3.3" 45 XDs and a Smith M&P 340 which is a 14 ounce 357 mag. Now for the 3-4 week wait for the permit.He who dies with the most tools/toys wins
