Here is a fun thing. When answering the questions, I referenced an earlier answer about traffic tickets by question number 'above'. IIRC there were roughly 10 or so.

After submitting, I notice that final version does not follow the sequencing in the online app, so the reference by number is not valid. So be aware. Appear restating as needed is best.

I may call tomorrow to see if its possible to update. They would no doubt figure it out, but just in case.

For a new system, seem to work pretty nicely for me.

I was waiting on my renewal since December (expired in January), and it finally went through! I received an email and phone call on 2/20, and picked it up yesterday (2/21).

I know it's tough being patient, but hopefully you should be receiving a call/email soon.

Did you get the credit card size permit or still the folded in half and laminated that oversize and won't even fit King Kong's wallet?

          Initial appointment report

I went in this AM for the initial appointment.
Went smooth and quick. Questions, answers, digital sign. Done.

Talked a bit about the 'next steps'.
Said they are still working on 'a new process' just a week old.
(I thought the new process started at first of the year, but anyway. . . .)
Guy explained that after DOJ clearance, they will send an email with instructions of items to upload (proof of residency, class completion, etc).
If uploaded items are done correctly per instructions (they emphasized),
then there is NO SECOND APPOINTMENT. Goes through final approval internally then an email is sent out for permit pick up.

This is totally new to me, and reading this thread is great.
I am only reporting what I was told.

Secret tip, after initial appointment, if you are confident of initial review and the livescan line is short, go ahead and get it done there on the spot. Saves another trip somewhere and starts the DOJ clock.

Taking my class at Cordova this weekend. Does anyone have some useful tips for me?

I'm early to everything so no worries there, but should I pack a lunch? Do I need to bring anything besides a pen on day one?

I know I should ask them, but tips from those who have taken their 2-day course would be helpful.

            Cheers.

Lunch, guns, ammo, holster, extra ammo, magazines/moonclips/speed loaders, ear protection, eye protection, a little more ammo and a smile. Also additional ammo.

What's all the extra ammo for?.... Well you already paid the range fee for both days. Might as well get some practice in before class or after or during lunch or at all three times.

                  Jimmie.
If you qualify on the first set, but they run additional sets for others, ask if you can shoot 'for fun' even though you have already qualified.
Its a rare chance to draw and speed fire. (ranges I go to dont allow it)

At Cordova Shooting Center when I do range qualifications for a new gun I always just tell them I'm going to practice with the first target. Than get a fresh target for the 30 round qualification at 15 yards. Of course this is for just a pistol qualification portion only and not the 16 hour class.

Cordova Shooting Center allows up to three chances (targets) per gun to qualify. If you finish in one. You only get one.

Might as well enjoy some range time with that qualification fee.

16 hours of mandatory training and shooting qualification with all firearms on your permit.

I've heard that the it varies from class to class on qualification shooting requirement.

Why do you state that there is no permit number and you have to enter all zero's?? Did you attempt to use the CII # as directed and that did not work? Just trying to be ready for my permit renewal, and want to know the latest.

Cordova specific quals - you stand at the bench 15 yards from the target and do 30 rounds on the initial class. Not sure about requal for renewal
