Regarding the "annual" qualification in the earlier post #4146 - it lists the old address for appointments - prior to the move. I believe it is an older version of the instructions - it is hosted by a third party.

The Sheriff's web site notes "qualify biennially" - https://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Org.../SIIB/CCW.aspx

Good point--caveat added to note. However, Amber's email address is unchanged.

I took my 16hr course and uploaded my final documents ( training cert. updated proof of residency ) to Permitium, wondering if it takes days or weeks to receive acknowledgement from them ?

Most folks get a response within a day. In June, mine took a week to hear back.

EDIT: Received my notification today that its approved and I made my final payment, just 2 days after final document uploads.

Now I'm getting worried after seeing how fast others are getting their approvals. Final docs were submitted 8/14 and I have not heard anything back. On 8/14 I sent CCW training cert docs and updated residency. Suppose I will try and e-mail Amber.

Can anyone tell me if this means my livescan is approved, or if they're just acknowledging that I uploaded the livescan form? I uploaded the scan of the form on a Friday and got this e-mail on the following Monday. Should I sign up for training already?

Your application for a concealed handgun permit cannot be approved without additional information. You can upload requested documents using the Order Tracker

                    This request is routine.

MR. IXCC-- we received the Live Scan form but still need you to scan and upload two new proofs of residency and your training and qualification documents.

Once we receive the above-requested information, we will resume with the processing of your application.

Take your training, and upload, then you will receive an email to pick up.

It means that your doj record didn't show anything negative.
I believe that sac county has already approved you. So in other words, you are getting your ccw.
Take your class if you haven't already.

Can i ask you a question. How long has it been? How long did it take to get your first appointment, how long after that did it take for them to approve you and the notice to have the livescan?

I had my appointment in late Jan, got my approval notice in early August, had livescan 2 weeks ago Monday, was officially approved that Friday, and been waiting to get an email to go and pick up the actual permit

                        It's just a clever handle

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm going to sign up for a class. Here's my timeline:

                          Application submitted: 1/7/17
                          Interview appointment: 2/6/17
Did LiveScan and uploaded scanned form: 7/28/17
E-mail saying they received livescan form and to upload POR and training certs: 7/31/17

They initially told me to wait for a go ahead before doing livescan, but I never got anything. After I saw some chatter in here, I decided to just do it. Since I got that e-mail so quickly, I didn't think it was the actual LiveScan results.

Sheriff Jones has sent out a departmental memo that he will not seek another term as Sheriff of Sacramento County.
