You are referring to the process for Murrieta PD. This thread is for the Riverside Sheriff process, which is different. RSO does not require a psych exam (as it shouldn't). Also, RSO is a LOT cheaper to get than a CCW for Murrieta.

Murrieta PD issued CCW is possible only with the approval of the Riverside Sheriff. It's an alternative to the RCSD process which Murrieta residents should know.

Murrieta has independent statutory authority to issue without sheriff approval. If Murrieta wanted to defer to the sheriff to handle Murrieta licenses, the sheriff might have to agree.CA PEN 26155

(a) When a person applies for a license to carry a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person, the chief or other head of a municipal police department of any city or city and county may issue a license to that person upon proof of all of the following:

(c) Nothing in this chapter shall preclude the chief or other head of a municipal police department of any city from entering an agreement with the sheriff of the county in which the city is located for the sheriff to process all applications for licenses, renewals of licenses, and amendments to licenses, pursuant to this chapter.

This is repeated in CA PEN 26150(c)

(c) (1) Nothing in this chapter shall preclude the sheriff of the county from entering into an agreement with the chief or other head of a municipal police department of a city to process all applications for licenses, renewals of licenses, or amendments to licenses pursuant to this chapter, in lieu of the sheriff.
(2) This subdivision shall only apply to applicants who reside within the city in which the chief or other head of the municipal police department has agreed to process applications for licenses, renewals of licenses, and amendments to licenses, pursuant to this chapter.

It's an alternative to the RCSD process which Murrieta residents should know.

Ben Clark Facility

I'm going to my CCW gun safety class at the Ben Clark training center this Saturday.

I've never received info on exactly where to meet for the Saturday class. Do I meet the instructors at the range at 8 am and is there a classroom there?

Any help on where to meet would be greatly appreciated!

I did my live scan today and now I don't remember how I'm supposed to get the copy to the ccw unit. Do I scan and email it, Or mail it in? Thanks

Does anybody know the fees for ben clark? I remember him saying 100 but what are the fees for additional firearms? I'll be putting 5 on mine I need to know how many more checks I need to bring for each firearm.
I did look on the pdf of the both apps and checked ben Clark's site but did not see it or missed it.

Each interviewer does it differently. Mine (Feliciano) had me scan it and email it; others have you drop it off at Ben Clark.

The $100 is all you need. That is for up to 6 guns.
