I hope so, I do have a question though. After my live scan i have the yellow and pink copies and i emailed a copy to my investagator. I asked him if he needed the orignal yellow copy with no response. Do i need to turn that in? Or is a copy fine for the deputy investagator?

Mine just wanted the scanned copy. Some turned them in to the Deputy at Ben Clark, I suggest you take it just in case.

Just did my interview 10-31-18, have my livescan on 11-9-18 and my qualifications on 11-17-18, hoping I get to pick up my license before thanksgiving but I know thats a bit ambitious.

Anyone else going to the 11-17-18 class?

Wishful thinking. I hope you do too. Reality is the election will be over so they may throttle back. But I hope the throttle up or at least maintain.

At the Oct 20 class the deputy said they are running 5 - 6 days after quals to get final approval; mine came on day 6, so you might get lucky (assuming everything else checks out OK).

Thats great news, Does anyone know if Live Scans are consistently coming back within a few days to a week or are these just oddball cases?

I believe the livescan results are sent electronically to CCW folks. You can even check the status, Mine took exactly 14 days to say completed on the livescan website.

Live scan cleared a couple days ago and passed qual yesterday. They told me if everything is good 10-15 business days i get the call to come pick it up. I hope everything goes good.

This notice must be given within 90 days of the initial application for a new license or a license renewal, or 30 days after receipt of the applicant’s criminal background check from DOJ, whichever is later. If the license is denied, the notice must state which requirement was not satisfied".


My appointment was 06/27/18.

Live scan results completed:
CA 07/05/2018
FBI 06/28/2018
Firearms 07/07/2018

Seems as if the 90/30 days to notify as required has long passed.

So, I got my permit

My original interview date was for September 2019, but it got bumped up to August 2018. I went ahead and took the qualifying class before my interview.

My interview went great - Deputy Searles is a great guy and made the interview relaxed and painless.

I did my livescan 1 week later....thats when it got weird lol!

I kept checking my LiveScan results on the DOJ website, and it kept telling me "Applicant transaction not found, please contact requesting agency." It was very weird. I kept checking for like a month...I felt like I was waiting for pizza that wasn't actually on the way.

Turns out I was right....

Something - not sure exactly what, but SOMETHING went wrong and I had to redo my LiveScan (they did not charge me for the second scan). 1 week later my LiveScan finished, and 1 week after that (yesterday) I picked up my permit. So I am pretty happy about that

Now I gotta figure out what to do with my gun while I go vote this evening....
