Want to start the process soon but wondering where exactly riverside county covers? I live here but work in Redlands and am a manager of a retail store where I regularly work late into the night and is one of the reasons I want one. Do other counties recognize ones from counties other than where you have the permit? Sorry kinda new to this.

Apply with your County of residence. That's all you can do. The permit is good in all of California and a few other states.

Okay so getting approved in riverside allows you to legally carry all over California?

All CCW permits issued in the state, regardless of the county of issue, are valid state wide ...

If you plan to carry at work, you'll need permission in writing from the owner.

I work in retail as well, and I know there's very little chance of my employer letting me carry on the clock. So I can't use that as a reason for applying in the first place. Just an fyi.

Also, set an appointment now if you have any inclination of getting a permit, as you probably know wait times are into April 2017. Get in line now, you can always cancel your appointment if you change your mind.

Got it. Already have permission for that. Thanks for the info. Will be submitting the application today.

Actually, you'll be CALLING for an appointment to submit your application. You'll receive a call back anywhere for a few days to a few weeks from now telling you when your appointment to submit your application is. As noted in an early post they are working on April 2017 now, so in the few days to few weeks that it takes to get called back they could be in May or July. Who knows. Best of luck.

                    Holidays CCW Unit appreciation

Happy holidays to all my fellow Riverside County CCW holders. I was wondering if everyone/anyone thought about sending those guys (Deputy Yesso and Aguire) a holiday card, or gift to show how much we really appreciate their tireless work in helping allow us to protect ourselves and family.

Lets flood that unit, they are getting their .....kicked

I myself sent a gift card to them today and was wondering if they got just a little something from all of us who received our CCW how much, I'm sure, they would really feel how we do appreciate them.

Take care, be safe, and Blessings

Great idea. Relationships will help the process more than lawsuits.

Whats the Sherriff dept. rules on gifts? I've worked for a few govt. agencies where gifts were not allowed. It's can be seen as a form of bribery. Cards and branded stationary were fine though.

That's a great idea, Deputy Augirre and Yezzo are definitely overwhelmed and still do a great job.
