I told them there was a discussion on the internet that they do a great job under less than perfect conditions and we should show our appreciation. So I took them a box of doughnuts this morning when I picked up my permit. They said thank you.

Also I ask about adding a gun to my permit and he said don't even bother. They won't have time to do it in the foreseeable future. Make sure your app is the way you want it going in because it will be hard to add or change it pistol wise.

Homelessdude, im glad you finally got your permit. Did you have a chance to ask the deputies how many permits are currently issued in Riverside? I know you've been wondering about that.

With the added demand, does anyone know if they are still recommending to set up a renewal appt 6 months out or should we be planning to schedule it sooner than that now?

Renewals should call 3 months in advance.

Renewal appointments are 90 days out and they have slots set aside for them.

That's good to hear. For some reason I had 6 months stuck in my head. 90 days is much better.

Sorry Sleighter, He started telling me no changes or add ons and Det. Yezzo accused him of elder abuse and I agreed and offered him a doughnut and we all laughed. We talked about how long it took. His position was it was only four months from the interview and I pointed out that the time you wait to have an interview is still time you are waiting for a permit and that changed four months into almost ten months. We agreed to disagree. Anyway I didn't remember to ask how many have been issued. I have a friend who is a week behind me in the process and I will see if he will ask when he is there next week.

"Absolutely no modifications shall be made to any weapon, without the approval, and subsequent inspection, of the rangemaster staff located at the Ben Clark Training Center."

1.) Does this rule apply solely to firearms qualified with/listed on your permit?
2.) Does this rule exclude simple gun sight upgrades (adding nite sights)?

Unless you have a different definition for, "Absolutely no modifications", I would say even sights changes require inspection and approval.

While I am sure sights will be a no brainer, I would follow this rule to the letter ...
