No. You need to expand on your good cause. But the threshold for acceptable good cause is very low.

Many of us here can help you through the process with any questions you might have.

If you want a permit call and schedule an appt ASAP. like today or tomorrow. Your appt won't be until March of '16 do you'll have 6 months to get everything together.

Pretty much official. The sheriff himself has said this is the case. The application(s) say this. The guys at the CCW office say this. Those who have applied with just SD have been denied.

This sums it up. Put in what you want to get out of it. Once you come up with a solid GC run it by the two deputies that solely just work on ccw permits. They are only there to help you. We all know the wait to get the appointment is quite a long time and from the appointment to hearing back is another 90 plus day wait. Take the time and have a solid plan and you will be ok and avoid frustrations and more wait times. Good luck to everyone in the process or looking to apply.

Is there any limit to the smallest caliber you can put on your application? I was thinking about getting a 22m NAA mini-revolver. The guy at the gun dealer thought that they would not accept .22 caliber.

                  From the sheriff website:

No firearm smaller than a .380 caliber or larger than a .45 caliber shall be carried at any time. Semi-auto single action firearms may be approved depending on proficiency and safe handling of the weapon. Approval will be the sole discretion of the range master and CCW Unit Staff.

                      Still waiting

Im going on 9 months since my first interview.
I got a call around the 7 and half month time. Adman wanted some info regarding some old charges on my record. I brought them court docs and a letter explaining the charges. They could of denied me then. So.... I hope they will look over my past. We will see

I went for my interview last week. I think it went pretty well. He read my GC reasons and I ask him if he thought it was ok. He wouldn't give me a yes or no answer so I still don't know if I'm wasting my time and money. I did the live scan this week. Any idea how long it takes to get a decision from this point. I scheduled the qualifying for next month. I figured I'm in this far whats another $100.00. You truly understand how bad this system is if you have done it in other states. Not the people they were nice, the system itself.

Interviewed in early December. Got the call to pick up today. Deputy Aguirre and Yezzo are badass. MVPD set me back about 4 months by making a mistake on my first two background checks. Thank you Mo valley. Other than that everything was a walk in the park. I encourage anyone with a clean record and safe pistol handling skills to apply. Don't be a Dick. Meet all the requirements and draft a well articulated good cause statement and you should be golden. The deputies will help you as much as they can. This is all coming from a regular 9 to 5 type of guy. Keep it real my fellow calgunners. Peace...

I concur. The guys in the CCW Unit are good guys. I have also gone through the hoops. Waiting for the call or the dreaded letter. Congrats jpigeon!
