      R Dale,
Like Sleighter is stating, call and get your appointment. Don't wait, you will just fall further behind. You will have several months to practice before you even get to your appointment.

Yeah, I think they're up to late feb/early March of next year.

Has anybody gotten around the employer notification thing? I'm still in the boat where that would cause workplace issues.

You would have to call and talk with the deputies about that. I know that 1 person was told that it needed to be done. But it may be a case-by-case thing.

This is pure speculation, but I wonder if it is done as part of their gmc determination. Because there is a space at the bottom for the hr dept to list any objections to you receiving a CCW. But like I said, that isn't based on anything. So let's not fight about it.

Not looking to pick a fight, but not looking for an uber anti gun Chicago based corporation to get involved in ccw paperwork. If you think it is case by case I'll give it a go, but that would be a deal breaker assuming I can muster something resembling a gc statement out of my 9-5 routine.

It's a case by case basis. There are several people on here that refused or advised they didn't want their employer involved with their ccw app and still got approved.

Make the appointment and speak to Deputy Yezzo or Aguirre. Fantastic guys and they are willing to help. The longer you wait the longer it will take for you to get a ccw.

Both my wife and I used our commuting to our jobs and line of work for CCW we just got last month. We don't carry at work. Neither of us had to do any paperwork for employer or notify them. I would say it is a case by case basis. Get the process started and then once you meet with them if you don't want then you can back out with no money lost.

does anyone know if being ex-military will help with getting an approval from Riverside, just the opposite does not ever being in the military hurt your chances of getting an approval? I know they ask for your discharge papers if you where former military. just trying to find out if it was a positive, negative, or doesn't have any real effect on their decision at all.

I don't believe it has any effect. I do know that having a security clearance alone isn't enough good cause.

Well, I go for my interview this week. Almost six months since this adventure started. It ought to be interesting.

Be calm, dress nice casual, be honest, and have a good time talking to the deputies. Good luck! [emoji379]

is Riverside accepting "self defense" as a GC?
