Great..... That's who I'm waiting for a call back from regarding my appeal. I made the call and left a message with Lt. Teets on Oct 14. Emailed Deputy Yezzo yesterday and he made no mention of this. He said I should hang tight for a return call.

Congrats to the Lt. for the promotion though.

Only in America. The whole system is pretty much breaking the law. From the extra questions to the excesive time involved. But why fix it when you can hand out raises. We should all have Gov. jobs with strong unions. Congratulations to the LT. they can always work on fixing the process later.

Have you even tried to apply? The guys in the Unit are really good guys who WANT to issue permits. That's why most people here have been approved. Excessive time? You cant blame them for the rapid increase in the number of applications, unfortunately it takes time to get to them. You want that job? Go ahead, they're taking applications right now.

Yes I have applied. It's been a little over nine months now. They seem nice but I'm not convinced they WANT to issue permits. Excessive time yes, I believe it says something in the law that says they are supposed to issue in ninety days. You would think that if they knew that they were not doing it right they would take some steps to correct it. The opposite is happening and it is getting worse not better. Sure I'de take the job if you didn't have to be a cop. Shuffling paper for a hundred grand a year, whats the big deal. Get them a good secretary and I'll bet the time would drop real quick. I think it is great that they are issueing more permits but the system still needs fixed ( more so than last year ). It won't get fixed unless it's talked about. I'm glad your happy with it, I'm not.

Don't worry to much it's really about twenty minutes of small talk while they check that your app. is complete. They are prof. and friendly. Good luck.

A Good Resource to Review my "Good Cause" Statement

Are there people or a group who can help review a "Good Cause" statement and provide some feedback?

                          10 months out

FYI-The Riverside Sheriff CCW unit is currently scheduling appointments for 10 months out. That gives me some time to go shopping for a concealable firearm.

Damn that's gotta be frustrating. I thought my 3 month wait was bad.

However, I do not fault the two deputies in the CCW Unit. They are doing what they can with the resources provided to them. Their attitudes are surprisingly optimistic given the daily task they are faced with.
