I got my final approval email and text today at 6:00pm. Almost exactly 4 months from start to finish..

06/13/22 Applicant Background Check Status Completed (FBI)
08/4/22 DOJ Background Check Status - Completed
08/18 Finally approved
08/18 paid final 80 bucks

I will be picking it up on Monday sense I am on a hunting trip.

Interviews in riverside were available next year. Soonest I could get was in palm desert on Nov 15th.

But at this point with that new bill that’s trying to get passed I almost feel like going through all this or even having CA ccw is pointless. Won’t be able to carry anywhere.

Has anyone used Homefront defense for training? Trying to decide if I should go there or BCTC?

Well, I was trying to figure out a pattern for the approval process thinking maybe the long delay for most applicants was due to the livescan firearm background check. I have not seen a CCW approval on this site for anyone applying after 5-31-2022. My app was submitted on 6-29-22 and interview done on 08-03-22 - all required support docs (including training and qualify) had been uploaded prior to the interview, with the exception of the livescan. Livescan was done and completed with the firearms part clearing on 08-11-22. Today is 14 days after the firearms part clearing. I was hopeful to get news due to the quick livescan results and that maybe this process would take less time. At this point I'm assuming it may be 30 days after the interview since all results should be in the file. It will be encouraging to see some approved CCWs with apps dated from June. I'll post an update on mine when I have one.

When you have your live scan done at sheriff's they should have provided you a receipt
paperwork.On that receipt of your live scan will be a ATI number.

With that ATI number you Google Live Scan Status .Once you find that status result
page you will be asked for your DOB and ATI number.

Once you enter that info and hit search 🔍 you will be provided that live scan status
info like Ca,FBI and firearms results.

I picked up my renewal this week.
The Deputy was telling me that they have been hammered, processing up to 200 new/renewal permits a day. It sucks, but just be patient. The current process is a well oiled machine, compared to what it used to be.

Just got the news at 4pm today --- first an automated call (323 area code) followed by a text and then an e-mail. Paid the $80 and received another e-mail with directions to pick up the CCW permit during certain business hours, no need for an appointment. Started the process on 6-29-22. Thank you to everyone posting updates on this board. It was very helpful.
