@marion9000 any update on your approval? I'm curious how the traffic tickets played out. I have the same issue.

Edit: Read through a bunch of the thread here and found that Livescan is where a lot of the wait time is. Mine is still stuck on Firearms going on 4 weeks so I'll give it some more time. Should I just go take the CCW course now?

Did my phone interview on Jan 24th and Livescan the next Monday on Feb 7th. I emailed my investigator 3 weeks ago about when I should take the CCW course and he never responded. Should I go ahead and take the course or at this point does something seem off and I should wait for a response?

If you take the course before your approval, you risk wasting the time and money if you are not approved. I would wait. I doubt it will delay the overall progress by much.

Might be delayed longer without the course.

I did my CCW course before I even submitted the application. I did my course in August 2021 submitted my application in September, and got a November 30th day as the earliest appointment available. Got called to do my live scan on November 22nd, had my interview a week later on the 30th. Got my approval December 22nd. By the time I went to my interview everything was pretty much covered just had to wait for the live scan to clear and I was good to go.

Just started my renewal today. The earliest interviews are in June. 3 month away.

              Questions,
Do I need to re-qualify with my firearms even if they same from the previous list?
Other than the 4 hour class, what is different from the initial to the renewal?

Yes you will need to qualify all over again. There is not much different for a renewal if your GC has not changed.

I submitted my renewal app back in January. My interview is scheduled for late March and is supposed to be over the phone. This change was apparently a response to high numbers of COVID going thru their offices.

I think telephone interviews are sufficient (and more efficient) when you consider the end result.

I find it difficult to believe that there are a significant number of applicants where you would get one result given the written application (signed under penalty to perjury), background check, GC, all the supporting documentation and proofs, and a phone interview and get a different result with all of that except an in-person interview. Does anybody think a significant number of different results is a realistic possibility? I'd love to hear the reasoning.

Can i use my original "Good Cause" statement when renewing or does it have to re-written. The overall circumstances and my day to day surroundings have not changed.

                              Thanks.
