If I may ask or if you recall approx how long was your interview .Also was in person or over the phone?

Sergentc: Mine was a phone interview on 04/05/22. I think the length of the interview is really based on the investigator, how detailed they are and what they want to see in your good cause statement also if you have any questions to ask them.

I had a traffic ticket issue that we spoke about briefly and he really did a detailed review of my good cause and wanted me to add an addendum to clarify a few points. Overall they are very friendly and help as much as they can.
There pretty easy to go thru. Oh I used the Palm Desert Station.

When i submitted my renewal (All Documentation) 3/30/22, Best i could do was 6/20/22. By rechecking every few days, Was able to get a 4/21/22 interview. It does pay off.

Does anyone know here who has already had their 'Initial New 2 yr ccw' with Riverside County Sheriff's ... Not Palm Desert if the interviews being done at location or is it a phone interview ?

I originally made my initial CCW interview appt at Riverside 16791 Davis ave Riverside...

I just tried to see what if anything was available in the Palm Desert Station and there a earlier available opening a month earlier on May 9 instead of June 8 in riverside.

What do you guys think ?...

Should I reschedule and take it a month earlier but its in Palm Desert Station ?

Im in Moreno Valley Area ...

My initial was by phone and im sure my renewal in a couple weeks will be the same. They go over your packet, Cross the T'S and dot the i's so to speak. Really a great group of people. Maybe suggest some changes in your GC. 10-15 minute call. If you re-schedule and get approved. You will have to drive to Palm desert (Pretty sure) to pick up your ccw. 30 days isn't going to matter is it? They will get to it when they can. Then after is all said and done you have a shorter drive to riverside. Can't go wrong either way. But, if you don't mind the drive, re-schedule.

Hi guys and gals, I'm new here. I just completed my application for my CCW first time. My dates will be uploaded to see how long and finish the process.

Application date: 3/20/2022
Live Scan date: 3/23/2022, CA and FBI completed same day. Waiting on firearms as of 4/19/22
Pre qual practice: 04/06/2022 done
qual test real: 04/09/2022 done and passed (Brothers & Arms LLC, great bunch of people)
Interview at palm desert date: 04/25/2022, I called and it is a phone interview.

I hope everything goes to plan, been around firearms about 15+ years, safety is the utmost responsibly for firearms. Thank you!

How did that happen ?.
My interview is scheduled with palm desert station on May 9th.

Sarge, email them directly and ask them nicely. Seriously. I believe I emailed at ccw@riversidesheriff.org. I put this "Hello and good morning! I filled out everything in my application and sent it out for processing. I was wondering if I can do a live scan prior to the interview. If so please send me the pdf or application. Thank you! Have a wonderful day."

They emailed me back one day after, they didn't say anything but they attached pdf file for live scan. So, I did have my live scan immediately right after because I know they are backlogged. Im still waiting for firearms 4 weeks now. Best of luck.

Also serge, I ask around with a ccw and sheriffs they said it shows that you have taken it seriously to have it done prior to the interview. Sheriffs like it because they dont want to wait and they dont have to check your application.
