Please be advised if you are applying for a MODIFICATION, you will need to upload a copy of your qualification cetificate via the Order Tracker upon completion of the application.

I had my phone interview last week with Deputy Searles. Sheriff Bianco has okayed private party live scans but they must be state certified companies. If you get your live scan now, you still have to wait until the sheriffs offices re-open because you have to have a face to face meeting/interview and a picture taken before they will issue a permit. This is straight from deputy Searles.

Received a text from my BI today...

“ In order to expidite the CCW process, the PD (Murrieta) has authorized phone interviews. I will be doing interiews this Friday, April 17. Once again these will be on a first come basis. Please respond and let me know if you are available. I will work up a schedule and notify you as to what time I will call you. Thanks”

Had my renewal call with Deputy Searles today. Appt at 1, he called at 12:20 (be ready early!).

Very brief review of the packet, and turned it over for approval to his supervisor. I will receive a formal approval in ~48 hrs and it will be mailed to me that day.

He mentioned they are ONLY Processing renewals right now.

Received new email today, Sent from another deputy other than the first email i received last week,

Effective immediately, all access to sheriff’s facilities, our lobbies/waiting rooms will be closed to the public, this includes all sheriff’s live scan facilities in an attempt to limit the potential of our employees being exposed to the C19-virus.

All in person background interviews will be done on the telephone. Please be available for our telephone call during the date/time you were scheduled to meet with the CCW Unit. If we are unable to contact you, unfortunately this will delay your process.

After the telephone interview is completed, we will mail a live scan form upon request only. Until we resume those services, private institutions may have those services still available.

Our CCW training and range qualifications are cancelled during this period. If desired, there are 17 vendors for these services listed on our website.

For those initial applicants who already have a digital photo and a digital fingerprint in our new system, will be mailed their permit upon approval. Actual issuance of the permit will require in-person contact and will be very limited during this time period. Please don’t show up to our facility, we will let you know with a personal phone call.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Had my phone interview yesterday. Basic questions, addiction, mental illness, domestic violence yada yada. Asked me to change up my cause statement. Said once he gets psych eval report he’ll submit for final approval.

Hello all,
Someone on the forum subjected I post my questions here since it's the most up to date for Riverside county.
A couple weeks ago before all this cov started I was about to submit my application online but stopped because I got busy.

Now I regret not doing it sooner. My question is from reading online my understanding I don't need the 3 letters anymore is that correct? I just need a letter stating why I need the firearm.

Is that correct or was I reading some wrong?
What documents do I really need?

Any kind of help would be awesome.
