I just got horrible news. I got a call today from the deputy working my case and my CCw was denied. He said my good cause wasn't good enough. 18 months of going thru this process just to be denied sucks. He said I could resubmit a new good cause, but I am pretty disheartened... I was sure my good cause was rock solid. Super bummed.

        Sorry man, that sucks.

Stick with it, try again. You've already invested this much.

Sorry to hear about the setback. Quick question - did you complete your livescan and safety class / range qual?

I stayed up all night working on my good cause and submitted it again first thing this morning. Deputy Searles said I would be hearing from him in a few weeks. Fingers crossed. I have waited to long and got to much invested to just give up.

Forgot to ask, what was the time frame between when you turned in your paperwork to receiving the call about your good cause statement? Just trying to get a feel for where they are in the process and with the backlog.

There is no call about your good cause. If the deputies think it's shakey, they will tell you at the initial appointment. If they think it's good, they run it up. You either get a call to pick up or CCW or a call saying you were denied. A vast majority of the time if it gets run upstairs you will be approved, but there have been rejections at the end.

That was my understanding as well, and I'm just waiting on a call as well (paperwork, livescan, class/qual all done). That was my reason for asking as TwoDollarDug and he said he completed everything as well and he did receive a call about his good cause. So based on what he said, they accepted it at his initial interview/appt. and then it was rejected at the higher level (based upon your comment).

I was just curious as to the time frames to see how long it took from when he completed everything to getting the 'bad news' call.

Wish this process was faster and that we could have a stronger voice in order to get more help to the Deputies in Riverside County CCW and reduce their paperwork backlog for them!! I know its budgets but its not fair to the 2 deputies and their 1 support staff person either.

I'm very interested in this since I did my interview Nov 1. Is it possible that mine might be headed upstairs soon? When did you do your livescan if you don't mind me asking?

                            Thanks

I did my livescan an hour after my interview. I made a mistake. My interview was November 29th.

Thanks for the info! So that is interesting, I basically had my interview and livescan prior to you and you heard back. Even though it was bad news. Wonder where mine is in the process.
