I wasn't concerned about not being approved so I went ahead and did LiveScan and submitted prior to approval.CA Ex-Pat

Oh wow. I just submitted my renewal and was under the impression I needed to do the Live Scan fingerprinting again. So renewals only need to complete the 4 hour course plus the live fire? Thanks!Comment

Well aren't I silly this go around. This is my 4th renewal and I did a LiveScan and I'm not sure why I did it now - f-ing Covid throws everything off. 2020 is so weird.CA Ex-Pat

I hadn't seen this brought up recently so I'll mention it - and it's a FANTASTIC improvement in the system.
My permit expires in NOV, so I filled out my renewal app July 20, at the far end of the 120 day window.
I paid for my renewal today and asked if this means my clock restarts in September. The clerk said no, my new permit is dated for November and becomes active once my current expires.
I remember a few renewals back you had to time it out otherwise you'd expire or it'd start your 2 year clock sooner.CA Ex-Pat

I expire end of January but will be applying beginning of October. I did wonder that as well.
But I rather have it than expire while they’re still processing.Last edited by 9Cal_OC; 09-17-2020, 10:14 AM.Comment
