For the most part my entire process was pretty on point with their estimate of 90 days. I'd say wait until after the 90 day mark from time of livescan to start inquiring with the unit.

Hey everyone seems like my timeline is a big elongated compared to some and , I havent heard back from the CCW unit so i was wondering if i should give them a call or if i should just sit on my hands and wait. any insight would be great!

My buddy has a similar timeline.

Had my first interview today. Looks like green lights for now. Didn't get any indication there was push back. Saw several people coming in for final interviews. Heard some coming in to pick up license. I'm encouraged from what I saw and heard.

for reason, what did you put? is the best practice to still indicate self defense & personal safety? or.....?

I did not put specific examples. Just my line of work and what it entails.

The sheriff was polite but indicated that although my reasons were ok, I'd need more along with receipts or invoices to prove the value of items I carry for my job. She also said to get a letter from my employer saying that I'd be transporting them. Why would I want to tell people at my work? That seems like a stupid idea. Maybe she was just trying to discourage me.

That's par for the course.

If you say you carry valuables or make cash deposits, you'll need to prove it with receipts, etc. If you say you need a CCW for work, you'll need a letter from your boss saying so.

She wasn't trying to discourage you. That's just how they operate now. They are still issuing, they've just moved the goal post.

3/3 requested interview
3/24 initial interview ( got lucky I guess)
3/25 livescan
4/3 updated GC requested and submitted
4/4 residence check
4/15 GC received
6/4 received phone call from investigator. File submitted to Lt. For approval.
6/17 email approval, just need to complete training and fax cert.

OCSD is issuing. Everyone in process stay positive.

Just picked up permit this morning. Great overall experience at OCSD. Jill was super nice and accommodating and provided alot of info and answered all questions. Everyone in office seemed upbeat and there were a bunch of people picking up. Those of you still in the process or newly applying, stay positive.

There is no set good cause that can be determined to be accepted or denied. That is totally up to you. But I can tell you that "almost anything" outside of self-defense will pretty much work. Just be articulate, concise, and truthful.

Thanks NiteQwill. My appointment is fast approaching and just got bumped up a month. Trying to get all the paperwork done and correctly. I guess i'm having an anxiety attack.
