Hopefully he will not have to go through the whole process again with SM. I would just give them a call and they can answer the question.

      Thank you just did it.
      This is what they said.
We will need a utility bill for the new address and you will need to update your address with the DMV if you have not already done so.

        Hey guys,

I know many of you are still struggling through these crazy wait times. As you may know, we filed a lawsuit to take on that issue and others. Unfortunately, we are now over three months since our hearing on the preliminary injunction without a ruling. In the time since the hearing, one of our Plaintiffs was finally approved following a total wait of about 22 months. We still have one other plaintiff who has not even had an interview yet, but to be safe we think it would be best to add 2-3 more plaintiffs.

So, if anyone would like to volunteer to be a plaintiff, please email me at kmoros@michellawyers.com. We'd be very grateful. It'd be helpful to include a short summary about you, and also a recap of your application timeline thus far.

Please only reach out if you meet the following guidelines:

        - You applied over 120 days ago, or at least 90 days ago. The ideal plaintiff is someone who is just beyond the 120 day time limit in California law that Los Angeles is ignoring. We don't want them to argue you don't have standing yet because you haven't waited long enough.

        - By the same token, if you applied a year ago or more, it's probably not ideal because you could finally receive your permit before discovery even wraps up, and then we'd need to get a replacement again. So 3 months to 12 months since the application was filed is the "sweet spot".

        - You are confident you have a spotless record. We don't want any surprises, i.e. defending you against accusations that you would not have gotten a permit anyway due to something disqualifying or something in a gray area.

        - You are able to respond to emails/calls relatively promptly, within a day or so. We won't need too much from you, but we will need some minimal participation, especially if this goes into discovery. If you are unreachable for several days at a time, that's probably not ideal for this sort of thing.

        Thanks all!

EDIT - I see my signature line has disappeared since I last was on here. For the record, my name is Kostas Moros and I am an attorney with Michel & Associates. We typically represent the CRPA in its litigation, including against LASD on the wait times issue.

I would love to be a part of this, but my application has been in LASD hands for 18 months now without a peep. Absolute BS!

I'm at 754 days and counting. Just waiting for the call to pickup. Training documents sent a little over a month ago. I'm thinking of starting my renewal process now, since it takes more than 2 years to get one.

When you take your training class, also apply for your Arizona and Utah non resident ccw permit. If/when you plan to travel out of state for more coverage. I believe medic up does offer that too, if you haven't done so already.

Hi everyone, I have quick question. I want to apply for my CCW but I have a 22 year old misdemenor conviction for discharing a paintball gun in a public park. Should I try to have this expunged from my record before applying? Thank you for sharing your opinons in advance.

Disclose it, even if you get it expunged.

According to recent posts, applicants whose applications were received at the end of August and the very beginning of September 2022 are now getting called to schedule an interview.

                              Sent my training documents in a little over 8 weeks ago. Sent the CCW department a message asking for a status, and this is what I got back;

Your file is pending final review. The minimum time frame for this is 8 weeks. You will be contacted when your file has been approved and we are ready to issue your license.

It takes them longer to approve a CCW from the time of training documents received to the time for pickup than most other states take for the whole process (Arizona was 4 weeks total including the travel time via USPS for my document to them, and the CCW back from them). Currently at 26 months and waiting.
