It is easy, fill out form and print it. Make a copy of your Real ID CA License and CA issued CCW. The CCW will be proof of the training. If you want include the copies of the two sheets given to you at the training. The hard part is INK rolled fingerprints. No one does them. I finally found someone to do them for $15 a sheet, as you need two. Get $60 dollar money order and mail it all to the address provided.

I was near Norwalk and called Cerritos campus police. Had it done there.

Congrats!! and very lucky for getting to pick up in 3 days!!! I got the call last Friday but they said the next available appointment date was 1/25... smh

Thanks. I feel very lucky for the quick pick up. No idea why. Maybe because I submitted application 6/21 and they wanted to clear the older applications. I'm glad the new sheriff didn't add any new hoops to jump through.

did you have to take a firearms training class? I can't find a site with full instructions from the AZ site. All the 3rd party sites wants to charge for their online course and their assistance with filling out the forms. I'm just trying to see if I can avoid paying 3rd party and do everything myself.

I did it for you and the app cites a AZ statute and this is how you fulfill course training requirements for initial AZ CCW (renewals you're good to go and they dont ask for anymore training):


N. An applicant shall demonstrate competence with a firearm through any of the following:

3. Completion of any national rifle association firearms safety or training course.

GOT CALL FROM LAPD TO PICK-UP CCW

Got the call just now, 1/11/23 at 10:26AM from an Officer Garcia:

LAPD CCW TIMELINE (UNDER BRUEN STANDARD)"

6/23/22: Supreme Court Bruen Decision came out. Called LAPD for appointment. (mailed my LA County Sheriff's app same day; still have not heard a word of acknowledgment from LA Sheriff. Was seeing which agency was faster)

10/5/22: LAPD interview and submitted revised application (no good cause needed. I also had a speeding ticket that I took care of with traffic school in 2020 but the interviewer did not mention it; also I listed my 15 non resident CCWs, the interview saw it but did not say anything either). Interviewer said I was the First to interview under the new standard. Live scan submission same afternoon on way home I found a place that does it.

10/9/22: 8-hr training class completed (technically I should have waited until I was approved but took a risk to get it out of the way and get the CCW faster)

12/6/22: LAPD officer called me and said I was "approved" and now I can take the CCW course. I said I took it already. She said email me the certificate. I did.

1/11/23: LAPD Officer Garcia called me and said if I can come in Jan 17 between 10am and 12pm to the police academy. To the left of the guard shack there are bungalows, go to classroom #3. Bring a CA Driver License ID and the $215 remaining payment via check.

I'll post a picture of my LAPD CCW when I have it.

By the way, I still haven't heard from LASD since mailing in my CCW application on same day when I applied to LAPD on 6/23/22.

I got the approval and emailed training docs last week. Got a response that they're doing pickups twice a month and will probably pick up end of the month. I hope I get a call soon to pickup on 1/17 as well.

Lol on the other guy. Congrats on the interview yours is another case that throws me off. I applied in April as well, had my interview in Sept and I'm still waiting for my training email. Absolutely no form of rhythm that we can gauge...

Where did you interview? And have you done your livescan yet? My suggestion would be don't do the training to speed things up just yet. Wait a few months to see if the timeline gets better
