I do have a question for the professionals here and I genuinely ask this question wondering
Why after LASD gets the training docs/cert after conducting all the background checks, determining you are worthy etc etc does it take several weeks for card pickup. By all accounts the card pickup is a 15 min deal.... And if all the hurdles have been cleared.... Is there another layer of checking the person out that happens? Are they waiting for a colonoscopy from the CCW carrier?

Based on what people are saying here about who they see for pick up its the same officer. So you could deduce that they have just one person doing it. That said I agree with you. Why not add some people to this unit and speed everything up. Or they could take your photo and get your signature at the original interview. Then just mail you your CCW. I got my AZ in weeks and never talked to anyone or left my computer. I just dont think it's a priority. I wonder how long the gap will be between the time your permit expires in two years and renewal.LA CCW:

nice! I just called the CCW unit and asked for a status.. the deputy looked me up and she said "yup.. you should be receiving a call within the next few weeks for a pick up"

I got a missed call from an unknown number at 9:00 am today No vmail.
I decided to call the CCW unit at 10:30 today. They said they called me today for pickup!!
Pick up date is Jan 18.
