I tried calling the CCW unit, no answer. The last email I received from them a few weeks ago was that they're waiting for approval to begin accepting applications. I sent another email yesterday. Let's see what excuse they come back with this time.

Source? Last I heard, LAPD accepts applications by appointment only, which is entirely on hold right now.

Submitting App to LASD for first time

Hi everyone, submitting a ccw application for the first time and had a question that i couldn't find an answer too when searching the forum. For those who submitted the app to LASD what did you put in the box that said "please provide any additional information that should be considered in evaluating your moral character".

I asked a few people who have already filed and they said that question wasn't on their app so maybe its something new. I would imagine the background check will show my lack of traffic violations and any criminal history or even any run in with the law. Short of saying, I am good person or I donate time and money to the community what does one expect to see there?

Please don't take it as direct instruction, but since the SB918 didn't pass, and GC is null and void, you could add either your concerns, like personal safety/etc or something similar or, on the other hand, you could leave it blank. Ideally, California should now be a "shall issue"

I would use to to state how long you lived in La County, Homeowner for x amount of years. Loyal husband and father etc. How long you been at current job with consistent good performance.

Stuff like that.

Applied late december 2021.. no call yet

I turned in my application late december 2021. I have not gotten a call from anyone regarding my interview... this is the start of the 9th month of waiting. I heard the wait was 8-10 months is this true? How can I find out? Is there a number I can call? Thanks.
