LASD will only process CCW's for contract cities and unincorporated areas under their jurisdiction. Cities like Long Beach, LA etc., will be responsible for processing/issuing CCW's in their jurisdiction. The recent SCOUTS decision was the root cause for this change.

And looks like they're catching up to November, my call looks to be coming soon :O

Got my call for pickup at 8:35a today. To schedule pickup tomorrow from CCW unit came from a Scam Likely Caller ID with straight 0s

The LASD will only accept first-time CCW applications from those who reside within our contract cities or unincorporated communities and encourage applicants residing in a municipality other than those served by the LASD to contact their local police chief and apply for a CCW license.

All first-time CCW applications submitted, received, or postmarked before the indicated date; the LASD will accept and continue to process.

The new policy of applying to your local PD will not affect renewals who already have a permit with LASD. Renewals can continue to renew with lasd regardless of what city you reside in.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Dropped my app off June 2021, interview 12/16/2021, and my livescan was finally taken on 12/17/2021.

The DOJ put a false felony on my record in which I let the sheriff know during my interview. She agreed that with my govt background that this didnt make sense. The first livescan completed the FBI & CA but the firearms portion is still pending and at this point wont be completed. I got the reporting agency to correct this charge and they had the DOJ remove it. Another livescan was submitted 6/28/2022 and firearms is pending again. I am assuming my livescan will take over 3 months now.

No justification for the difference in time to complete the scan. I literally have a COE and FFL03, and I see other ppls firearms portion complete within days. Wonder what the difference is between myself and those ppl.

No, I did the same, they just make you re-send the docs when they "request" them.
