I received the proceed to training email a couple of weeks back and was told final approval takes about four weeks, so just before Christmas if the stars align.

My timeline is similar to that of Ricky Ricardo, and my GC is Dark / Light Red.

To Fair to AV. The MAJOR issue, as far as timeframe, is delay by the CAL-DOJ in sending results [though the actual background checks are pretty fast]. Now there is super high demand/New applications and while AV has increased the size of the CCW Unit it clearly needs to be even larger; That part AV controls out of his budget. Not sure what restrictions he has to deal with in department sizes.

Live scans are taking much longer than 6 to 8. I'm heading Into 10 weeks. They did "say" 6 to 8. My post acknowledges that more staff is needed in the overall process di we don't disagree. They are many delay factors but the DOJ part seem to be deliberately delayed as opposed to the staffing issues with just getting a timely interview. There are issues all around.

I submitted training at the interview- at their request. Livescan was conducted on 11/19 and my firearms has not cleared yet. Are you suggesting that once it clears, I will technically be 4-8 weeks away from getting issued?

That would be consistent with the reported timelines. Don’t be surprised if you get an email telling you to complete your training. A few who submitted their training early have reported they had to submit it again. Have patience they will get to you.

guess I got lucky with my livescan submitted 10/28 firearms completed 11/10

I work for an aerospace company which has multiple government contracts. I usually start work around 4:00am. I leave around 3:30 and walk a good distance to my car. Parking is scarce and I let my gf have the spot in our buildings garage for safety concerns. I almost always carry my top of the line welding gear (speed glass 9100fx adflo) and my work laptop with sensitive ITAR documents, blueprints and information on it. I fear that the monetary value of the items I carry every day both for work and my personal welding projects makes me more of a likely target for violence.

That would qualify based on statements made from the interviewing Sheriff at Chatsworth.
