Who TF knows tho. Maybe this new LT is rockin their new dept issued cowboy hat little too hard. Continued good vibes to those in the process
Ya even with these changes I really don't think they'd have you spend another $200 or so on training (plus 8 hours of your time) if they were going to deny. The only time I'd see them deny after telling you to do training is if some huge red flag was uncovered which for some reason did not appear before.

Not to mention that from what I heard/read things get very partisan and even clique-ish in organizations like that, so it's entirely possible that new LT is vehemently anti- below red issue, and we're seeing the results

If it is the case that this is all because of some insubordinate LT, then AV should promptly act to correct the issue and reexamine ALL the recent denials to see if they should instead be approved under the light green good cause.

But I'd still lean towards AV being the one behind the reversal.

We need someone to really press him on this if at all possible. God knows the media won't.

I would like to see continued loosening of the GC to the point where it's minimal or none at all. That being said, I'm going to venture to guess that many of the yellow and LG GC that are being denied are looking very much like other previously approved ones (even if it's unintentional) and to the CCW Unit, it looks manufactured rather than something that is organic and a true part of your normal daily routine. Again, I'm just speculating here, however, hiking with expensive cameras (or something similar) does start looking a bit iffy when you see a spike of such GC reasoning. I mean honestly, when you go out on a hike, how often do you see someone carrying around expensive gear like those that are likely being described?

                First Post

Hi all, first post and starting my journey to get a ccw permit. I read through Paladin's pinned post and am finishing up my application. I have a light yellow GC but am wondering if I should also include any medical issues I have that makes it tougher to run away or fight back if robbed. Would lingering back pain count? Thanks.

Good point. For now I think (maybe it's just my sour grapes) I'll withhold my vote for the Sheriff's office from V

Don't blame you at all, I'd do the same in your position. In fact, as I said above, I will do the same unless AV's opponent is likely to take us back to effectively no-issue. In which case AV is the lesser evil.

I really, really hope this is just some jerk antigun LT acting without AV really knowing about it, such that it will be corrected soon. It makes me so angry for you guys with LG GCs.

I'd venture a guess that one persons LG could be another person's yellow.. I think even strict Yellow scrutiny is a MASSIVE win in Los Angeles. IF a lot of LG were accepted to grow the number quickly at first, then so be it. Short of an openly Pro-CCW candidate (Which surely will be attacked by the Left HARD), AV is a solid B+ by most measures. Honestly, anyone who is Pro-CCW running against AV will end up splitting his base and benefit a Left-Leaning candidate.

I generally agree with this, however I'd like to note that my LG GC that supposedly put my application into the approved pile, while it did involve expensive gear, was fairly unique and didn't involve hiking with it during the daytime lol
