And, sounds like my worst-case scenario path forward to reapply by Nov. 1 is now null.

Vader, in your call with her, did it seem like she was the one who made the ultimate decision? Or did it seem more like she pulled your file and was going through the notes left by a different LT regarding the denial?

In other words, did it sound like her explanations were being read to you from a file she pulled off her shelf, or did it sound like she knew exactly who you were/the details of your file?

I'm assuming business license means an entity registered with the CA secretary of state?

My deputy told me he looked up my business on the secretary of state site.

I can't say, because she sounded utterly disinterested. She did ask for first and last, but as I said, she made no effort to suggest possible alternatives, like if you don't have a business license, maybe you have business card, checks written for services rendered/etc

Makes perfect sense and puts my mind at ease: one “business” doesn’t have any business (i.e., it exists only on paper), and the other isn’t a legally licensed business. IOW neither qualifies as a business for GC purposes.

Within a year we MAY win a major carry case.

Not necessarily… a business license is usually issued by the city or in some cases county. You can have a business license without having a registered entity with the CA SOS.

Wow, I'm stunned. Did they ever ask you directly for the things they said were missing: proof you bought and sold guns, and a business license? Anything else? Is it even possible for you to get a business license? Do you live in a city that issues them? Does the county?
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

This is why I am also anxious to talk to her. I want to know if there is any indication as to whether or not my outcome would/could be different if they had the additional supporting evidence in hand that was declined when I offered it

I do have City of Los Angeles Tax Registration Certificate which in many cases works just as well as the Business License

FFL 03 is expressly FORBIDDEN from dealing in guns. It's a collector only license

Here is information straight from City of LA's site -

Do I need a tax certificate?

Every person who engages in any business within the City of Los Angeles* is required to obtain the necessary Tax Registration Certificate(s) and make payment of the business tax. You can apply in person to the Main Office of Finance or any branch offices. Or, in many cases, you can file an application by mail. While you are required to register your business, you may find that your business may be exempt from paying the tax if you are a new business, small business or creative artist.

And I do have that certificate that shows that I am doing business in LA
