Alright, just got my call for an interview scheduled.

Applied early April, check cashed mid-April, and now finally the call for the interview in late June. Light green GC.

I wonder if ObeyGiant would go back to his original post and create a poll with the various application steps in it. At some point I'd like to see some numbers and percentages. Also timelines. Looks like it was 4 months for those who applied in Feb, probably a lot longer now.

I also forgot to mention that the deputy told me there are only 7 people working the CCW unit. 4 interviewers and 3 people who collect livescan and reply to emails. He also told me there's a HUGE pile of files on the desks of the higher ups in the LA office who look at them when they get a chance. He goes to LA once a week to pick up/drop off CCW applications. Anyone who applied May/June you may have a 2 month wait or longer it seems.

Update on my experience so far

4/14 dropped off packet in Temple City
6/8 Got call for interview
6/22 interview (was out of town, had appts week before) in MP

Got livescan paperwork, female deputy was nice. Said they had 5 folks detailed to CCW work for County so backed up. She said to expect permit in about 3 months if everything goes well, and to contact her if I didnt hear back from live scan in 6 weeks. She said live scan has been a crap shoot, sometimes quick, and sometimes very slow (like many people have mentioned). She said wait for livescarn to do training but check out classes because sometimes they can be backed up. She also told me to email her directly with questions, as the group email is confusing and no one is sure who messages are for. She made it clear that she wasnt the decision maker, but thought I had a good chance to get cleared.

I brought DD214, ID, passport, paystub, business license, and pictures of collectibles and their worth that I acquire for clients. I also am on the road all over CA so brought documentation about locations I travel to. Made copies for her and brought originals. GC yellow, prob light red with business.

Oh man. I mailed in my application the same day and they received it the next day 4/15. still no call for the interview. Seems like not all of us will get the call.

worried application got lost submitted 2nd app 5/14
1st application check cashed 5/20
Livescan started 5/1
Livescan cleared 5/25
Training finished 5/20
No blocked calls probably dropped on the waitlist b/c I submitted twice.
Applied to AZ ccw DPS on 5/25
6/22 not one blocked call in last 90 days.
Yellow to red GC I carry and deposit 15,000 to 45,000 in cash every month for my own company I own supported with atm receipts and letter from owner of check cashing company that I cash large checks at odd hours on nights and weekends.

Still no call I’m depressed. Maybe make a campaign donation then ask political consultant to check my app?

Also I haven’t emailed LASD with training certificate nor doj livescan # because I think my 4/14 application was dropped to my 5/15 application. So I might be late August?

Any thoughts fellas? Need Prozac or a rub n tug...

Don't be depressed, LASD is just working on the 2nd week of April applications starting today.


if you scroll back and read the last 10 pages or so. You will find that most people getting calls are ones who submitted 4/5 - 4/12
