As am I. Application received 4/19, check cashed 5/6. Awaiting call.

Light green GC: recreational (hiking & camping), competitive shooting 2-3 times a month with expensive stuff in remote areas and age related compromise of ability to escape or fight back.

Also live in San Fernando Valley, so Chatsworth would be great location, just hoping.....

And have COE renewal LiveScan already cooking from 5/17 with both CA/FBI done same day and Firearms still in progress.

When I am not checking my phone or reading this thread, I'm updating my application status for the LiveScan.

5/26 call from LASD to go pick up license
5/27 license obtained

We're talking about submitting training certs.

I submitted mine on the 19th as well.
Still no call for pick up.

Took my firearms from doj only 20 days to complete.

Anyone recommend TRB for training? I live around the Downey area, or if anyone recommends any others?

There is a big step between where L.A. is now and Shall Issue. That would be ANYTHING that distinguishes you from the average citizen. Practically anything you can document beyond simply "self defense" or "... and afraid". AV still has room for substantial loosening before he gets to Shall Issue.

Wife and I took the TRB course and are taking adv. CCW courses with them.

Highly recommend if you got the money, there are other cheaper options in town like Firing Line in Burbank.

But I felt like we got good value out of their course.

Just picked up mine today, she confirmed my job title again and took a photo for the license. Also make sure check guns listed and serial number listed on the back, they typed p365 instead p365xl on mine but was able to get it corrected.

They did the same with mine, left off the xl. But serials are correct.

I don't know if this is appropriate to share here but my friend just got approved by LASD to do CCW training.

Although he was just approved with LASD, he has a decades of experience. He is an ex-LEO, has been training for many years, including CCW for Ventura County. He managed the Firing Line in Northridge for years before they closed and did all the training there as well. He is also GM in Steel Challenge.

He belongs to the same gun club as I do and does all his training at our private outdoor range in the Sylmar area. Send me a PM if you're interested. By the way, I get no cut of anything. He's a good guy and a great trainer so thought I would share.

PS. He's not Colombian so that's a plus.
