If anyone has been approved with a light green/recreational good-cause, can you please post how that went? Seems like most of the people getting approved lately are work-related GC or in the yellow tier.

When LASD moved to have light green approvals, the flood gates opened.

The people who submitted applications with light green GCs, for the most part, have not been interviewed yet. LASD is just slammed. They are currently interviewing applications that were submitted late March. The first wave of Light Green GCs probably came in around 2nd week of April. Those people won't be interviewed probably until June/July time frame.

If you're being cautious because of your Light Green GC, I would just apply anyways, it's $30 you have to lose. That's basically 2 and half Chik Fil A meals or half a box of 9mm.

By the time you hear back from the LG GC in April, it's going to be July/August time frame anyways. Just do it.

Had my interview today. I was told to proceed with training and live scan. I was informed that live scan may take from 2-6 weeks and just be patient.

What color was your GC?

You're an attorney that deals with xx case. You've been recognize outside of court. You spend time in DTLA for trial...Your life has been threaten by people approaching you outside the court house.

+1 on this, I think you will have a hard time with the argument that you need a CCW because you are at risk going to or from court when you won't be able to carry going to or from court. I remember somebody being in the same situation regarding a school they work at and trying to use that as GC.

My understanding is no modifications (probably have a problem with the barrel, slide and trigger, but not the controls) or freedom week mags.

To be more specific, I don't think there is an issue regarding standard capacity mags with respect to carry other than it might be confiscated with no penalty other than the loss of your property. Regarding qualifying with them, I would ask the trainer prior to the class, but it should not be an issue. There is no requirement (nor mechanism to enforce one) that says you have to carry the same mags you used for training.

Let them know your livescan was completed.

They responded within an hour saying they updated my application. 5/19

I have been following this thread daily, and since March 1, I do not recall one instance of a denial being reported since that time. Remember, this is when LASD started calling applicants back who had been previously denied and asked if they wanted to resume their applications. Since that time (March 1), do we have ANY information about anyone at all being denied?

Does clearing the live scan guarantee that you will be issued the CCW if you have not received the approval email as of yet? Also can you take the training without providing the instructor the approval letter? I was under the impression that you must provide the approval letter before proceeding with the training.
