Deputy called and said my interviewing deputy forgot to have my sign something, and they needed a utility bill, as my lease agreement wasn’t enough (even though my interviewing deputy said it was). Ugh… so close

I asked what next steps are, she said once she has that she submits it for “final review”

Nervous about that. I was honest in my interview and said I tried marijuana in high school (over 10 years ago, haven’t tried since). So hope that doesn’t tank it. I don’t think I’d have made it this far if it was a problem. But very nervous now. Figured better not to lie to them.

I got the call to pickup last night! It came after 6 pm from a 213 area code. Scheduled to pickup next Tuesday

Using weed a long time ago won't disqualify someone from getting into Law Enforcement so I doubt it'll be an issue for your CCW. You're going to be alright.

Correct, no live scan needed and no in-person interview. They call you for a phone interview. The phone interview lasted no more than 15 minutes and the questions mostly covered the last two years. You only need 4 hours for the renewal course. I believe they do a quick DOJ background covering the last two years before they call you for pickup.

This is a good sign. That means they are finalizing your packet and making sure everything is good to go before the supervisor signs off on it. Also means that your file isn't laying around somewhere, lost in the system and that someone has a hold of it. You're one step closer to getting a call.
