It was just over 8 months from my application being received to my call for interview.

It was 9 months for me but my application literally got lost twice. I applied in May and interview was a little over a week ago. If anyone applies right now, I wouldn't expect a call until October-November unless they assign more deputies to the CCW unit but that's looking very unlikely since they want to fire over 4,000 unvaccinated deputies (better call a social worker when you get attacked by a criminal).

I would like input: Due to communication errors with our gun club, my buddy and I completed a CCW class, got our certs, live scan, etc.....all before an LASD application has been submitted. We did all of this in reverse.
Do you think this will dis-qualify us? Should we submit our application and present the certs during the interview or let them know in writing that we have certs? Thanks for your feedback.

This should not disqualify you, but don't be surprised if the training is considered expired by the time they interview you. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of livescan, but it may be that that will also be considered invalid.

            6 months?

Various posts above indicate the training certificates have a shelf-life of 6 months. With applications seeming to require 8 months to get to the interview stage, you will probably need to redo the training. Hopefully it was quality training that helped you learn some new skills and is useful over the next 8 - 10 months as you go through the application process. (MajorCaliber beat me by 3 minutes )

Thnx for feedback on this all.... according to one student in class, it took him almost 1 year to get his interview with LASD. Looks like we'll be taking classes again. No big deal...it's a learning process. We'll go ahead and send in our applications. Thanks again and have great day !!!!

Just wondering if anyone here has received their proceed to training email, then submitted their training docs and did NOT receive an email from the CCW unit confirming receipt of their training docs? And still get a call for your pick up? Just wondering. Everybody that I spoke to has said that they received a confirmation email confirming receipt of their training docs. I did not get that confirmation email.

Asked and answered earlier in this bog. Some get email confirmation and some don’t. I did not, but waited for the next step.

We really need a way to pin the FAQs originally summarized in post #6396 on page #160 where a member summarized a very helpful List. Do not recall if it included this point, because not that many had yet to reach the relevant point in the process.

Thanks Paul. I know it was answered but I wanted to hear from somebody directly who did not receive a confirmation email, but yet received their CCW. Thanks bud!

When I went for my interview, the deputy asked me to email her some documents. I emailed them later that day. Should I call or followup somehow to confirm she received them? Thank you.

The vibe I got from the deputy that interviewed me was a "don't call us, we'll call you because we're too busy for emails and phone calls." But use your best judgement.

What I can tell you about the process as I'm seeing it, it just takes a ton of patience.
