I got the similar response. I was told that we do not issue CCW for rec purposes, but we spoke about some other information not related to rec. I was told to go thru with the live scan as well.

If so, I think that SHOULD still qualify, but I'm not sure the LASD would agree.

If the house in escrow is not one you own, but instead is one on which you are acting as a broker/salesperson, then I share the concern expressed by others if the LASD is looking at sales volume for real estate professionals. Even if you have a small volume, you are still vulnerable when you are showing the property.

Interesting. We'll see what happens i guess. My interview is soon but I already did the livescan to win some time. Gonna take the training this week. I will probably wait until the livescan is complete and will email both docs to the ccw unit.

I wonder why it took them so long to appoint an interview date. Pretty much takes 3 months after livescan. Congrats tho! Get that training done ASAP! Gonna go to the interview soon but I already did livescan and gonna do the training this week. Hopefully it will speed things up haha

Most people never get formally denied because they refuse to go forward and pay the fees. The Sheriff's who are de facto denying love this because they round file the applicants who do not go through the whole process. Chuck Mitchel states that most Issuing Agencys in California Counties do have an appeals process. It is not in PC that they have to accept appeals.I have benefited from it 2 or 3 times out of 7-8 applications (San Diego) where I paid full price. It is PC that they have to keep a record of their denials PC26225-1.LA County policy should be on California County Sheriffs Carry Licencing Policy and Infomation Database. I can't access now.
Be advised that it is a chicken shaet juke move for desk rat cops to infer that a denial on record is anything but a badge of pride. LEO and civil servants love to wave this like a weapon. If I were you I'd stay anonymous if they have told you you don't have good enough cause. Always apply, always appeal when you can and record everything. I started applying in 1994 and look at the picture below left, that's SD Sheriff Kolander giving me a fancy leather cop wallet and a flat badge in 2005. Persevere!!!

Probably longer than that. There were 3 of us that mailed our applications in separately, and USPS delivered them on June 17th and 18th. I sent in a thanks, but no thanks, I moved out of state, so I will likely not get a call.
For my 2 buddies, in 2 weeks it will be the 8 month mark since LASD received them, and they are still waiting for a call so they can schedule an interview. I will guess the timeline is now at 12 months or longer.

If that doesn't qualify as good cause...who's dick do you need to suck to qualify then?

That's pretty insane to me. I would still continue the process because the LT may see it differently. Unless you have a MJ or DUI issue, to me that should pass.

However, I'm just some idiot on the internet behind a keyboard, so what do I know.
