Not sure if this is the current wait or not? I'm just waiting for now.

3 of my coworkers picked up the CCW Licenses this month NOV '21. Their CCW processes started mid to late APRIL '21.

Their Timelines were approximately:

• GC were a Light Red and Yellows.

1. Applications were mailed in mid to late APRIL 19th - 28th.
2. Interview calls all received on a MON from a blocked #. Interviews were on a WED or THUR the same week. Interviews were completed in less than 3 months (late JUL) from the mail in of CCW apps.
3. Right after the interview with the Sheriff Detectives, the Live Scans were initiated the same day.
4. Live Scans took 3 to 4 weeks to be fully completed (JUL - AUG)
5. Training emails received ~5 months/ 16 - 22 weeks from mail in of CCW apps. (AUG/SEPT).
6. Training scheduled and completed within a few days of the last coworker receiving their training email. All three took the same class together (late SEPT).
7. Training documents were sent same same day of completion or just a few days of completion.
8. Training documents receipt confirmation emails received the same day or within a few days of email submission.
9. Calls to pick up CCW Licenses from Sheriff Stations were about 6+ months/ 28 weeks from mail in of CCW apps. (early NOV)
10. CCW License pick ups were in the first weeks of NOV.

NOTE: The Training Classes nor the Live Scans were taken ahead of receiving instructions from the CCW Unit to do so!

IMHO I'd follow their examples! It doesn't make sense to do so now, if you just sent in your application within these last few months. The process is taking longer and the Live Scan and Training documents may expire, by the time you make your CCW Interview.

If you mailed in your CCW application much later and/or have a GC other than Red or Yellow, I believe this process for you will more than likely take significantly longer than these late APRIL submission examples.

One of my coworkers could have received his CCW LICENSE earlier by 4-5 weeks, as he got his training email a month or so earlier than the other two coworker. He waited for the other two to get their CCW training emails, so that they could take the CCW training class together.

I would not do the live scan or training early. They are underwater with a backlog of apps. Prior, it may have sped up the process but now I believe it would be a roadblock by becoming expired by the time you're up to bat.

At this point, I think the SCOTUS ruling coming in June/July 2022, assuming it goes our way, will directly affect those that applied in the last few months. Praying and hoping that it dissolves the GC ambiguity and it is purely decided on GMC only - as it should be. Applications should theoretically be processed faster if that becomes the case.

Well I disagree with the GMC part. Without the ability to deny on GC, GMC will become new all purpose denial tool in obstructive areas. It is completely subjective and non-contestable. Ever got a traffic ticket in your life? Denied. Accused by anyone for anything? Denied. Maybe even just lack of sufficient positive evidence like charitable works or efforts on behalf of liberal causes. Don't forget that a significant fraction of the country thinks being Conservative/Republican/A Trump voter, makes you morally defective.

There is a GMC component now in addition to GC. I think moving to just the GMC standard without GC is a step in the right direction.
