Phone interview done on Tuesday. Livescan done yesterday. I will be getting instructions for the next portion which is most likely to find a training class and qualification course.

      Cost so far:

      $10 application fee
      $119 live scan fee

Cheapest class I can find is $150 + $20 per gun qualification. 3 guns are allowed on LA County permits. 72 rounds first gun, 20 rounds for each additonial gun. 70% is the passing score with no time limit.

      Hi, jewie27.

Did you do an in-person interview? Which location did you go to and how was your experience?

I would advise against that change until you talk to him directly. Try PMing him.

his 30 day timeline to approval is bonkers compared to the past cases. Maybe they speeding things up. But there has always been a live interview component.

Some guys are getting live scan and training done before being approved just to be ready. You risk losing the money spent but it can speed up the process.

I'd wait to for him/her to clarify some of the questions above before mirroring his approach vs the other guys that actually have card in hand.

Good point. From how he described it it seemed to be the focal point. Also I believe he was approved ?

            #2 LASD CCWer Speaks!

#2 LASD CCWer said I could post this PM to help and encourage LA CGNers.

I’ve asked re posting info about their GC. They asked me not to.

Hey Paladin! I want to share that you guys can add 1 more ccw permit to the LAC today. I want to Thank you and others for sharing their ccw experiences on this site. It was truly helpful!

In terms of the ccw process, people should read Post #1404 and #1440.

For me, I live less than 7 miles from DTLA. It took about 15 days for my check to cash, then took less than 3 weeks to complete my steps to ccw.

I truly believe that we all have a better chance with Sherif Alex Villanueva so get your applications in!

BTW. Even if you were previously denied, apply again. You might get someone more understanding than the previous person. It also shows that you are damn serious about protecting your life!

Remember this. They want a good person to have CCW. BE HONEST during your interview. They are trained to catch people BSing. If you lie, say good bye to your ccw.

I think jewie27 said he had a phone interview on Tuesday, and Livescan on Wednesday.

I'm having a hard time believing this.

Something like carry large amounts of money, extended response time, requirement to be in unsavory areas, stuff like that, yes? Or are those to specific? Screen names should definitely be redacted.

Each applicant must demonstrate proof of residence and good character. In addition, good
cause for the purposes of Penal Code section 26150 shall exist only if the following prevails:

Sufficient evidence of potential danger to life or of great bodily harm to the applicant, his
or her spouse or dependent child, which cannot be adequately dealt with by existing law
enforcement resources and which danger cannot be reasonably avoided by alternative
measures, and which danger would be significantly mitigated by the applicant's carrying
                      of a concealed firearm
                      .

                      SAME CH!T DIFFERENT DAY.

Over 600 applicants. And ONE unconfirmed anonymous claim of receiving the brass ring, is far from encouraging. That the AV leopard has changed his spots.

The way I see it, if Measure J gets passed then it'll be easier to get a CCW.

Let's hope that AV doesn't get replaced by then, although that seems unlikely.
