I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

I agree with your analysis. To simply say that there is a 50% chance you will get approved because there have been 2000 applications submitted is incorrect, unless the balance of those 2000 that have not been approved were explicitly denied/rejected. The fact is that much of that balance may still be pending the process. Your denominator must be the total number of applications that have completed the process and your numerator those that were approved.

I’m a numbers guy so that’s probably a more pessimistic viewpoint. Approved to me means approved. They got their permit. Pending means exactly that. They got the app and it has neither been denied or approved. The rest since they are not approved or pending means denied. 3 basic categories. Each individuals chance of course is dependent on their GC and GMC. But the numbers say for everyone that applied and got approved their is someone who was denied. As far as cal gunners go I would say they have a much higher percentage. They came here, read what Paladin and others have said and did their due diligence. But sadly that probably makes up very few of the total applications. From the reporting on here I would say at about 10%. Regardless I encourage everyone to apply and who knows, come July that number might skyrocket.LA County CCW HolderComment

I’m expecting to get rejected even with my yellow gc, and super clean record, I’m already training for sprinting as fast as I can with my body armor which is a good alternative lol. And there’s no way my company will issue a letter to assume liability for me carrying a firearm even if I’m working graveyard. But only time will tell.Los Angeles County CCW- Yellow GC

I'm still waiting since June 2. No call or email for training but maybe because I notified the deputy working my file that live scan was complete and I sent him the training certificate. He just said its probably still in the approval process.

This has been a therapy thread for sure, haha! Funny how the universe works. Sure enough, as soon as I started to care less and "move on", I finally got the call!
The call came from a number that appeared with a local L.A. area code (so yes, answer politely haha). Got my interview scheduled for this week and was given the choice of Cerritos or Monterey Park.
They asked me to bring supplemental documentation for two of my Good Causes (in addition to what I included in my mailed application). I provided 5 Good Causes that were all Light Green. If I didn't have it for one of the GC, they made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. The other GC, they insisted on it and said it would make it stronger. Got the interview confirmation email about 2 hours after I got the call.
Hang in there everyone. If you have a clean record and good moral character, you should be applying! Definitely worth the $30. I had a couple bad incidents in my teens (occurred more than 10 years ago). Like what Paladin, CCWFacts, and other OGs have repeatedly stated in this thread, put in the time to write your good causes and provide/have ready all the documentation to support it. None of my good causes were job dependent. They are all pure Light Green.
I'm satisfied to have gotten this far and thought I'd never see this day here in L.A. Going further in the process will be a "bonus" in my view/situation. I'll update again after my interview. Good luck to all!

I posted about this a page or two ago, but I don't think ANYBODY gets a letter from their employer accepting liability. Did LASO tell you you needed that or did you get that from this thread? If your GC is employment related, verification of your employment and duties should be sufficient. Do not be disheartened!I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The deputy asked for my recent employee evaluation, pay check stub, and a letter from my boss or hr dept stating what exactly my job duties are, and a statement verifying i routinely go on call and can be called at anytime, and which cities or areas i work in.
The hr department wouldn't write in detail what the deputy wanted. (no, i did not tell them what the letter was for),but they were willing to give me a basic employment verification letter. I went online to the company's website and found my exact job description and printed that out and brought that along with the employment verification letter. The deputy was ok with what i did. I printed out the emailed conversation between me and my employer so i had proof/documentation on why I couldn't get exactly what the deputy was asking for.

After my training cert, it took just over 3 weeks. If you were ask to get your training cert, your GTG. I'm sure they are busy and calling/emailing them, delays processing. Waiting sucksComment
