Really? I’d really rather my work not know. I currently have my CCW, but I may need to change my GC. My current CCW lists my profession and employer on the license. Perhaps they already did the originally?

They just verify your employment. They don't mention anything about CCW.

Obviously it's best that whomever you give them contact information for expects their call.

I have an S-Corp that's listed on mine as an 'Employer' - this is technically accurate, but oddly enough they didn't call me at my work number to have me verify my own employment.

I think they MAY have visited the mail service I use for the company, as one of the staff there did act real funny when I came by after my approval notice. Probably some Sheriff Dep. coming by and asking about me spooked her and she was probably left with no clue why SDSO was looking into me. She's back to normal now.

I gave them a copy of the company statement of information as part of my GC evidence, so they likely figured asking me to validate myself wasn't a great idea.

I provided a signed letter from my employer verifying my employment, my duties and the risks I face. I think they accepted that alone and never contacted her either on my initial application or on my renewal. I have never heard of them contacting an employer after they have issued the permit.

So, I got approv ed, took my class, and now I have tried calling the past two days and I keep getting the voicemail. I left a message and I will see if I get a returned call.

I carry a shield 9mm and glock 19. I alternate between the two.

Are you calling to setup your appointment to pick up your CCW?

Also send them and email. I did it that way and was scheduled for pick up within a day. I think I just got lucky but give it a shot.

How many days til approval? I feel like time is going backwards. I’m at day 78 and it’s still silence.

I have a gut feeling it is going to be day 86. That is what I am projecting. Since you have not gotten in calls at all. I would say everything is in good order. A few of the folks that received their approval got it on day 86.

I have my pickup date on June 26th. Hoping you fellas get approved soon. Discount Gun Mart was great aside from the sales pitch from USCCA.

Way to go and congratulations. Hopefully those last 10 days for permit pickup are not the longest 10 days of your life. Thanks for sharing your Discount Gun Mart training experience. I will keep you posted on my status. I am at whopping 61 days, LOL.

Almost every firearms class I've been too does a quick push on CCW insurance. Discount's was pretty quick and it's worth the $$ IMO...although something from another provider might be better...or not.
